Unconvention 2014 – Faux Watercolour Technique by Emily

I know the girls at Convention are having a great time, but I am loving making some new friends and trying some new things at Unconvention.  The next challenge was set by Emily and uses Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Spritzer & a clear block to create a faux  watercolour background.  For my card, I used Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry & Smoky Slate markers to create an Eastern Elegance splash of colour.  I then stamped over it with the Beautifully Baroque stamp, finishing it off with ‘happy birthday’ from the Express Yourself hostess stamp set.  This technique is so simple, yet so amazing.  I’m already planning a Wetlands card with it (no surprises there!), as it would make a great nature background!  Check out the youtube video on the Stampin’ Up! channel – here, then have a go at this technique at home.  Send me a photo of your finished product and I’ll add it to this blog post!  Kelly x

Unconvention 2014 – Blue, Red & White colour challenge by Jenny

At the moment there are lots of very enthusiastic Stampin’ Up! demonstrators enjoying Convention in Melbourne.  From the photos I’ve seen, it looks like they are having a blast!  Sadly, the balls didn’t line up for me to attend this year.  So, instead I’m participating online with other lovely demos in Unconvention.  I’ll post some of my creations here to share with you.  The first challenge was by Jenny and was a colour challenge.  She challenged us to use red, blue & white plus the option of one other colour.  This is the outcome of my creativeness this morning.   I’m looking forward to lots more challenges between now & Sunday.  I’d love to you to play along too.  Any creations that are emailed to me (kelly.kent@westnet.com.au) will be added to my blog.  Show me your craft mojo!  Kelly x
