Choo Choo – Happy “Thomas” Birthday

I will often match a birthday card with the theme of the party or invite.  Ashton’s 2nd birthday invite had a Thomas the Tank Engine theme, so I wanted to try my version of a Thomas Pop n Cuts card I saw on Pinterest (inspiration provided by Patsy Waggoner – here).  Sadly, Pop n Cuts retired this year, but I’ve held on to mine so I can still make cool 3D cards like this one.

Although the original cards was fabulous, I made a few changes.  Instead of a punch art Thomas, I used a template (found on Pinterest … addict much?), I changed up the colour scheme and added in a banner.  Happy Birthday Ashton!  We hope you had a lovely day!  Kelly x

Retiring – Pop n Cuts… Photo Finish?

Less than a week now til the new catalogue is up & running.  But that also means only a few days left to buy retiring products from the current catalogue!

Today’s share is a custom card I made for a lovely lady I work with.  She wanted something special for a 50th birthday with a horse & family theme.  Pop n Cuts are my go-to when I want a very special card and I’m sad to see them on the retirement list.  I love the easy 3D feature and because it sits open, it can be a small piece art the recipient can put on display.  I added in the also retiring Dress Up Framelits to create a ‘one-of-a-kind’ themed card complete with a hand cut jockey outfit.  Modern Medley encases the Pop n Cuts card to give it a lovely masculine finish.

Don’t make your retirement list order a photo finish!  If you’re in WA (like me) and want to order anything from the retirement list, your order needs to be lodged with SU!HQ by 9pm on 30th June.  Stampin’ Up! are based in the Eastern States, so everything runs on EST.  But that also means that new releases are often at a reasonable time (9pm is much kinder than 11pm or 1am if you’re in NZ!!!).  If you want to sneak in one more retirement list order, you still have time!  Email me or order online.  Happy shopping!  Kelly x

It’s the Stampin’ C-Up!

I always enjoy orders from customers that are a little different, or allow me to create something I normally wouldn’t.   The brief for this card was a 60th birthday card for someone who loves horses and fashion.  This is what I created:

Horsey Pop Up WM 1

After Stampin’ Up! announced it would not be continuing with the Pop n Cuts range when their stock runs out, I added it to an order late last year.  Not only can it make beautiful stand up cards, but it also makes a quick and easy gift card holder and cute gift bag.  I hadn’t had time to use it until today.  I’m overjoyed with the results and excited to make more!

Supplies for this project:

Pop n Cuts: base, label insert & extended cutting pads

Big Shot

Framelits: Dress Up, Deco Labels

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Old Olive

Ink: Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky

Stamps: Memorable Moments

DSP: I used the retired Modern Medley – I love the flocking on this particular design to give the dress a little extra jazz

Accessories: Clear Block, Pearls, Sponges, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin’ Scrub, Trimmer

The background image is a stock image from Google which I printed then sponged to create grass, sand and clouds.  Sponged clouds is my favourite embellishment at the moment!  So easy and so effective.  Kelly x
