ESAD Blog Hop – 2017 Annual Catalogue Favourites

No automatic alt text available.

Hello!  Thanks for joining for for another ESAD Blog Hop.  For all the info on ESAD, see the graphic at the end of this post.

Today we are celebrating our favourites from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.

There’s 25 talented crafters participating today, so make yourself a cuppa (or pour a wine!) and enjoy the clever and inspirational creations to come.

If you’re already hopping, you will have seen the stunning creations from my friend Lou Kitzelman.  Click on the next button below (after my projects) to visit another gorgeous friend of mine – Cheryl Algie.

The friendships I’ve made through Stampin’ Up! is something that I am forever grateful for!  It’s wonderful to have connections across the world!!!

The content of this blog hop was surprisingly easy for me!!!

Sometimes I struggle with ‘favourite’, but I’ve really been loving the Soft Sayings Kit & stamp set.

It’s priced at $61 for the Australian market, and in your cute little box, you receive materials to make 20 cards (including patterned envelopes – yep, no naked envelopes here!!!), a 15 piece stamp set, a block for stamping and an ink spot.

Today I wanted to show you how wonderful the stamp set in the kit is.  I have a ‘soft’ spot for good greetings – and this stamp set covers it all!

It’s easy to miss the kit stamp sets!  They are tucked away in the box and we often use them to make the kit cards but forget that they are more than the kit!!!

So, the first thing I did was make a clear case insert for the stamp set.  I always do this for my kit stamps sets – I break them free from the cute box and store them with my usual stamp sets.  This way they are on display and I don’t forget them!

To buy clear cases, click here or see my product link up at the end of this post.

They were accidentally missed from the print run of the catalogue this year – whoops! – but they are still very available!

Although I absolutely love the cards in the kit, I wanted to show you how easy it is to whip up some cards using the greetings & flowers/leaves in this stamp set.  And hopefully inspire you to see this stamp set as more than just for your kit.

I’ve used some of my favourite layouts to make a set of cards using the stamp set in the Soft Sayings kit.

The colours are consistent with the kit colours.  Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Gold & the core colours from the kit.  Using colours that the Stampin’ Up! concept design team have put together is one of my ‘tips’ for easy card making.

Berry Burst…

There are so many sentiments in the stamp set, it’d be easy to make a heap of cards using your favourite colours & layouts, and keep them for when you next need a card in a hurry!

Or make up the card basics and then add the sentiment as you’re rushing out the door!!!

The kit cards are good for this too – and the beautiful colours & design of the Soft Sayings kit make them perfect for all occasions!

If you finish your kits cards in a hurry, Stampin’ Up! have introduced a refill for the kit this year.

You get all the card making materials and can use the blocks, inks & stamp sets you already own.

Thanks for hopping with me today.  Next up on your journey is Cheryl Algie and her great variety of projects!

ESAD Blog Hop – 2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Image may contain: text

There’s lots of excited Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and customers this week, because we’re only a few sleeps away from the release of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue!

To spread some more of that excitement, a group of demonstrators from the ESAD Facebook page are getting together today to participate in a Sneak Peek blog hop.

Image may contain: text

You’re going to see lots of amazing samples as you hop around more than 20 blogs of talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

If you’re already on the way then you’ve just seen the gorgeous work of my friend Lou Kitzelman.  I’ll take this opportunity to give her a big pat on the back for all the hard work she does to organise these blog hops!

And now on to my creations!

Today’s shares are all about one of the bundles you’ll be able to order in the new catalogue.

I’m feeling quite sneaky today because I have the pleasure of sharing something with you that not too many people have had the chance to play with – yet – but I know will be in the shopping carts of many on Thursday.

It’s the Circle Tab Punch and Tabs for Everything stamp set!

The Tabs for Everything Stamp Set was in our bag at the April OnStage event (so lucky!) and the Circle Tab Punch appeared in my beautiful box of products for my display stamping board for OnStage #demoperks

Apart from it’s amazing uses… cards, scrapbook pages, organisation and the new planner (!!!), one of the best things about this product set is the price!

The bundle is only $54.75 in Australia and $66.50 in New Zealand!  All new bundles in the catalogue are priced to give you a 10% discount.

I used the punch in my display board samples (see them here and here) – on it’s own and with complementary products, but as with many Stampin’ Up! products, it really comes into it’s full amazinglness when used as a coordinating set.

To show you the wonderful potential, I’ve paired it one of the new DSPs.

It’s bright & fun – you’re going to love the Pick A Pattern DSP!!!

This pattern seemed perfect for the paintbrush stamp from the Crafting Forever stamp set.

ESAD Blog Hop - 2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek | kelly kent

I’ve used the tab on the edge of the centre panel for the ‘happy’ sentiment and the ‘birthday’ sentiment in the Classic Label punch.

The colours in this DSP are gorgeous!

For this card, I’ve used the punch negative as a little cubby for the animals – which are fussy cut from the Pick A Pattern DSP.

ESAD Blog Hop - 2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek | kelly kent

And the ‘hello’ sentiment from the Tabs for Everything stamp set – it’s packed full of cute (and practical) little words!

The final card uses the camera/photo page from the DSP – and following that theme, I created a film strip using the stamps from the Tabs for Everything stamp set.

With a tab pull at the end – of course!

ESAD Blog Hop - 2017 Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek | kelly kent

Did you notice the use of the Classic Label Punch in these creations?  It’s not part of the bundle, but many of the sentiments fit this punch perfectly.

I am a huge fan of the Classic Label Punch – and the ability to punch out sentiments (and get them straight!).

If that wasn’t enough to tip the Circle Tab Punch onto your wishlist, then you might be tempted about how easy it is to create catalogue tabs for your new catty!

Catalogue Tabs - Stampin' Up! 2017 Annual Catalogue | kelly kent

With just the Circle Tab Punch, 3/4″ circle and the {FREE} Catalogue Tab downloads below, you’ll be able to totally organise your catalogue!

Catalogue Tabs - Stampin' Up! 2017 Annual Catalogue | kelly kent

Print the tab labels onto Whisper White cardstock, punch using the 3/4″ circle, attach to the left side of the tab and fold in half around each page, attaching at the rectangle tab section to create a sturdy tab.

I’ve suggested colours & page numbers – but this part is really up to you!

All my tabs sit on the right hand side of the catalogue, regardless of whether the section starts on this page or the even page number before it.

Storage Style … the next installment … Blendabilities

image

I was a little late to jump on the Blendabilities train, but now that I’ve boarded, I’m loving my growing collection.  As the pile grows taller, I realised it was time to design some stylish storage for them.  Like the Stampin’ Write Markers, they are best stored flat, so the DVD style cases are once again a perfect fit.

The main collection fits perfectly into two wood mount cases (18 markers, 6 sets in each).  The skin tone assortment and color lifter store nicely in a clear mount case.  And because there are 4 new sets in the Occasions catalogue, I’ve created a wood mount case insert just for them!

Note: To fit 18 markers in each wood case, you’ll need to stand your markers up on the skinny side.

Once again, I’ve used MDS to create free printable inserts, ready for you to download.  Simply click on the links below to download the jpg files you need, or download the Microsoft Word file which contains the full set ready for printing, including a blank insert to customize the sets you have at home.  Kelly x

Coordinating Storage – Stampin’ Write Markers

IMG_0308

Now that you’ve put all your ink refills into cases, it’s time to organise your Stampin’ Write Markers.  As they have tips at both ends supplied by a cartridge in the middle of the pen, it is ideal to store your Stampin’ Write Markers horizontally so that each end stays moist.  Storing them in clear mount DVD style cases is perfect.  If you’d like printable inserts for them (made by me in MDS), click on the links below.  You can download just the jpg files you need in each colour story, or download the Microsoft Word file – ready for printing.  There’s also a ‘blank’ insert if you don’t own whole colour collections, you can colour the ‘splatter’ with the matching pen and write it’s name on the line.  Each insert measures 17.8cm (5-5/8″) x 14.3cm (7″).  I love it when everything has a place.  In theory that should make it easier to clean up…. Sneak Peak – File Tab Edgelits (including free 2014-15 catalogue printable tabs)

Tomorrow is the 1st July – a new financial year, the middle of winter and ……… the arrival of the 2014-15 Stampin’ Up! catalogue.  My last sneak peak for you, before you can get your hands on it all yourself, is the File Tab Edgelits.  They come with 2 file tab edgelits and 3 number framelits (you may have noticed these in my picnic punch art card) – so many cute ways to use this very economical set.

If you like to be organised (and I do amongst the chaos!), then file tabs are a perfect addition to your catalogue for quick referencing of each section.  If you’d like to make these yourself, please download the file tabs document here and follow the instructions below.  If you’d like to purchase a set of ready made file tabs for your catalogue ($5 including postage Australia wide), please email me.  Kelly x

Note: some of the links to new products in this blog post will come up with an error until the catalogue becomes available to the general public on 1st July 2014.

Making your file tabs:

1. Download the file tab template.  Print the document onto any colour cardstock you like. I chose 4 different colours, so I could separate my catalogue into sections (Melon Mambo – stamp sets, Crushed Curry – Paper & Accessories, Old Olive – Tools, Bermuda Bay – Party & Index).

2. Cut 2.5cm off the top of your printed page and 2.3-2.5cm off the left side (this depends on how your printer prints – you may want to print a test page first to check the margins).

3. Starting at the left margin, cut three 5.5cm strips.

4. Take each strip and starting at the top margin, cut into 2.2cm sections.

5. You should now have 27 rectangles each measuring 5.5cm wide & 2.2cm deep with the writing roughly in the top middle.

6. Using the File Tab Edgelits, cut each of the rectangles into a tab shape.  I used the ‘middle’ tab edgelit, lining it up at the top edge of the cardstock and roughly in the middle.

7. Attach the tabs at even intervals (see page suggestions below).

Sneak Peak – New In-Colours are a “Work of Art”

After spending some time with the new in-colours I have decided my favourite is Blackberry Bliss.  It’s rich and warm and gorgeous!!!  The other 4 colours are also beautiful and I can see them getting a lot of use (especially the Mossy Meadow & Lost Lagoon combo for some Wetlands cards!).  You don’t have to decide on a favourite straight away – the best way to try all 5 colours is in a Cardstock & Pad Kit.

To show them all off, I’ve made a matching card set using quite a few of the new products including the Work of Art stamp set, Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits & Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

I’ve also made an insert for ink refill – you can download this here – with all the new colours included [I needed to do a manual update for MDS for the new colours to appear – if you’re a MDS user, and you don’t have the new in-colours by now, you’ll need to do this too!].  The inserts for the existing colours and information on sizing can be found here.

So, as you can see I’ve been busy playing with my new products.  Not long now til you can order too!  The new catalogue starts 1st July 2014.  If you’d like a copy of the new catalogue, please contact me.  Or, if you live in Bunbury, please come to my launch on 5th July! Kelly x
