Hi there! Thanks for joining us for an ESAD 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to join in with one of these great hops, so I’m excited to be sharing projects this afternoon with this amazing group of stampers.
The theme is the new catalogue and I’m looking forward to seeing the showcase of products available for the next year.
I love a large percentage of the new catalogue (too large for my budget!) and think Stampin’ Up! nailed the new offerings. As well as some usual favourites, there’s some new themes. Today I’m sharing one of the bundles I was most excited about – the Hats Off stamp set and Hat Builder Dies.
This bundle is one for all genders, all ages and all occasions. The hat makes a great masculine card for guys of every age including those difficult to craft for teen boys. I also love that it has a good number of accessory pieces that are great on hats, but also complement other themes.
Here’s the two projects I made to share with you today – a forest themed man card and a rocket themed kids card.
I’m still oh-so in love with Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent – which are perfect forest colours, so they formed the colour scheme for my card. I added in Just Jade for another green tone. The DSP is a reverse side pattern from the Pansy Petals DSP. Perhaps not your first thought for a manly card – but those green toned strips were perfect for what I needed!
I love the stitched texture of the hat die! I added in a birthday sentiment from the Artistically Inked stamp set and used the Stitched Rectangle Dies for some extra detail on my card. The Bark 3D embossing folder added great tree-like texture to the Basic White layer behind the hat.
The second card moves away from the hat theme but still uses the stamps and dies from the bundle. I love it when products have lots of variety in how they can be used. The rocket theme in the Hats Off stamp set works so well in partnership with the Stellar Birthday stamp set.
The colour theme for this card is Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry. I love these colours together for a boy card.
The repetitive rocket stamping in the background with the star stamp from the Hats Off stamp set and star die from the Hat Builder Dies create a great space theme for this birthday card.
I feel like I’ve only just touched the surface of what you can make with this bundle – it has so much potential!
