Treasured Medallion | Shutter Card

Today we celebrate – it’s my birthday, my mother-in-law’s birthday and the international day of families! I have had a wonderful family day – kids sport in the morning, lunch with family and the luxury of some time on the couch tonight in front of the wood fire.

Now that I’ve given this card to the birthday girl, I can share this card with you.

The front of the card is decorated with Fine Art Floral DSP and Treasured Medallion stamp set.

The middle part of the card is actually a belly band, which can slide off the card to reveal a little magic on the inside!

It’s a Shutter Card – using the action of opening of the card to pull out the middle segments and reveal a sentiment on the inside. In this case, it’s happy birthday wishes.

I followed great instructions by Lisa Curio with adapted measurements for A4 cardstock.

And then of course, once you close the card, the pieces all slide back in.

The colours are Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Pretty Peacock and Crushed Curry – inspired by the colours of one of my favourite previous DSPs – Eastern Elegance.

I took lots of photos of this card! I also had the mini Papercrafts help me with an action video!

You should definitely make one of these cards – they are so much fun!

Happy birthday to all my May birthday buddies!
