Just Add Ink #536 | photo inspiration

Hello! Thank you for joining us for the last Just Add Ink challenge of the year. How are your Christmas preparations going? My to-do list is in serious denial that the big day is next week but I am very much looking forward to celebrating Christmas with my family. It’s warm in Australia at Christmas time, so our day will be by the pool with seafood and salad.

The photo inspiration today is one last push towards Christmas crafting with a gorgeous snowman in a bucket to inspire you!

I love the wood tones and traditional colours of this photo. I’m not sure I’ve ever used a wood background for a Christmas card before – I love it!

The mix of the leafy foliage and the handles of the bucket made me think of the Sweetest Time bundle in the Aug-December Mini Catalogue. This catalogue ends just after Christmas, so if you have any favourites that you’ve haven’t yet ordered, make sure you get yourself a little Christmas present this week! The handles of the bucket are actually rope, but they reminded me of candy canes – which seemed like a fun mix!

I’ve swapped the snowman for the candles with orange flames to replicate the essence of the snowman.

The tag – also inspired by the photo – was the perfect touch to finish this card. I don’t often put sentiments on the left side of the card – so I love that the inspiration photo challenged my usual creative pattern!

We’d love to have you join us for this challenge. To add your project to the gallery and see all the creations of the design team, visit the Just Add Ink blog.

Wish you peace and joy for the final week of Christmas preparations.
