Stamp Review Crew | Perfectly Plaid

Hello! There’s 5 Mondays in November this year, which means a bonus hop for Stamp Review Crew. The specially chosen extra set is a Christmas set from the Annual Catalogue – Perfectly Plaid. Did you spy the Christmas sets hiding out in our year long catalogue?

I’ve made two cards to share with you today.

The first is one that we are making at Social Stamping this morning (starting in just a few moments). Here’s the sneak peak if you are reading this before you come!

It looks like a Santa Suit with buttons from the All Dressed Up Dies. The belly band – his belt – is removable…

And when it opens up, it’s both a card and a gift card holder.

I’ve used the sentiments from the Perfectly Plaid stamp – ‘ho ho ho’ is just perfect for Santa! And a Merry Christmas on the inside.

For the second card, I couldn’t resist using my favourite tree image from the set. There’s three to choose from, and I just think this one is so sweet!

The colours and layout were inspired by the leafy hearts of the first hop of this month. You can see the rainbow leaf hearts by clicking here. The colours are: Magenta Madness, Bumblebee, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay & Gorgeous Grape.

The trees were so easy to line up using the Stamparatus – and the hinge stamping means you get even spacing between the trees. This tree stamp in the set comes with a coordinating stamp that fills in the leaves of the tree – making it easy to add the pops of colour.

I added matching stars to the top (die cut using the smallest star die from the Stitched Stars set) as the finishing touch. It’s purposefully sentiment free, though I am still tempted to add a sentiment from a different set as the ones in the Perfectly Plaid stamp set don’t suit the vision I have for the card. Do you ever mix & match images & sentiments from different sets? It’s a great way to extend the style of a stamp set and give it new life.

Next stop on this international hop is the fun stylings of Mike Funke in the US.
