Social Stamping Blog Host | merry & bright

Hello! Thank you for joining us for another Social Stamping Blog Host. They started when we first started seeing lockdown in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many months later, various parts of our country, and a large percent of the world are still experiencing significant issues resulting from the virus.

In Western Australia, we look to having a fairly local Christmas as all travel to other states comes with conditions of quarantine and/or COVID testing on return. There’s no international travel (other than applications for exemption for extenuating circumstances) – a state of play that is likely to condition until mid next year – at the earliest. We continue to have the luxury of very few COVID cases in our state and no community transmission for over 6 months. I am grateful for these statistics but also realistic about the hardships people face as they are unable to freely travel.

Thankfully, the one area of travel that hasn’t been restricted is our online gallivanting. We have access to friends and family by internet using Zoom, Skype, Messenger and other video calling. While it will never replace seeing a loved one in person, our access to the rest of the world in the technological space allows for human connection while staying in our bubble – whether that be a home level lockdown or a state level one.

It also gives us access to a world of inspiration for our crafty endeavours. Are you crafting more now than ever before? I’m really enjoying being able to hand craft gifts and cards this Christmas. With the postal system being under considerable strain, the “shop local” and creative gift giving is perfect!

The theme for today’s blog host is ‘merry & bright’. It’s important in what has been a very tough year for many, that we take the time to look for the merry and create the bright this festive season. It may not look like the Christmas we had planned, or the ones that feel familiar to us, but there’s still the option to make it something special.

As always, my wonderful stamping friends have joined me on the hop to share their talents with you for projects that inspire. The full list of participants is below, but each blog should link to the next for easy transition.

Happy hopping!
