I must confess, I’m not much for extra detail decoration when I’m making cards. I don’t often stamp the inside of cards and I almost never decorate the envelope. But, I do love it when I see both of those things and give myself a crafting high five when I do it myself!
So when I saw the Ornamental Envelopes bundle in the catalogue, with beautifully detailed stamps and fabulous dies for making envelopes pretty, it was a good way to up my game on those extra touches!
There’s envelope liners to match a range of different envelope sizes, which makes it perfect for all the cards you want to make this festive season. It’s tried and tested for Australian (and European) A4 sizing. I’ve used the standard C6 size envelope.
As well as lining the envelope with pretty DSP – I’ve used Snowflake Splendor DSP – you can also use the dies to create cute features such as the peekaboo feature on the flap of this envelope.
The card for this project coordinates with the envelope – using the same DSP (Snowflake Splendor). I’ve stamped directly on the DSP in Gorgeous Grape, using the Stamparatus so I could get a great bold inking with 2 or 3 layers of ink.
Ornamental Envelopes doesn’t contain any greetings – it’s designed to match with the stamp sets you already have. I’ve used ‘Christmas Wishes’ from the Banner Year stamp set – and cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.
The final touch for this card was Basic Pearl Jewels on the baubles. I love the subtle shimmer of these pearls and the elegance they bring to a project!
You’ll find all the products needed to make this card in my online store. Click here to visit. Snowflake Splendor DSP is on sale for 15% off during October 2020 (so, only a few more days!).
Where do you fit on the ‘extra mile’ scale? Just the card with no extra stamping on the inside or envelope? The whole hog with envelope liners, envelope stamping and inside stamping? Or somewhere in between?
Or are you like me and it really depends on the card, the day and the amount of time you have??? Take me to the world with endless time and plentiful crafty supplies to play with!
