Hello! Thanks for joining me for another Just Add Ink challenge. This week it’s a Choose Two theme; create any project using two of the options – sequins, ribbons or metallic foil.
I could have easily used all three of these fabulous crafting accessories and after some internal debate over which idea to go with, I ended up choosing metallic foil and sequins to make a Christmas shaker card.
The design for this card started with the ‘heartfelt Christmas’ sentiment from the A Merry Hello stamp set which led me to a heart themed layout!
Some of my stampers hadn’t noticed this super cute set at the back of the Aug-Dec Mini catalogue – have you? It’s available for free using Stampin’ Rewards, which you earn on orders over $250 (in Australia, other areas have different reward structures). I love the hearts from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. Scallops and stitching – yes please!!! The different sizes allow for beautiful layering. I’ve used vellum in the middle for a different medium to create the shaker, and the Sequins for Everything mix in the middle. There’s 4 colour variations in the pack. I’ve used the green tones and the metallic tones to match the DSP.
I had originally planned to use a solid foil, but when choosing a DSP, I couldn’t resist the gold foiling in the Ornate Garden DSP. Of course we have a catalogue full of pretty Christmas DSPs, but after crafting with them for the last month, I felt the need to go with a different pattern. You’ll find the Ornate Garden DSP in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue!
See the shaker in action…
I know you’ve all got sequins, ribbon and metallic foil in your crafting stash, so if you’re in need of some inspiration for a project over the next week, please use our theme and share your creation on our blog.
Have a great weekend,
