I was spoilt with so many beautiful birthday cards for my birthday. One of them was made by my mum and was a gorgeous Theatre Card using my favourite DSP (Best Dressed). Tracing back some of the examples shared on Pinterest, I think the original designer was Lolascrap. You can see her post, including measurements & instructions by clicking here.
I have the pleasure of sharing my birthday with my mother-in-law. This works out well for my husband who has one less date to remember (or ends badly if he forgets!!
This is my version of a Theatre Card, made for my mother-in-law, using the soon to be retired Mosaic Mood DSP. This has been a firm favourite of mine and this style of card seemed like the perfect way to show it off one last time!
Like all great fancy folds, this design folds flats and fits into a normal envelope. But when you pull the middle layers outwards, it opens up to reveal a beautiful centre.
Like so many recent DSP patterns, these designs are easy to fussy cut and include as the main artwork in cards. The happy birthday sentiment is from the also retiring I Say Hello stamp set.
The slide feature is so clever on this card. It can be displayed as a stage card or opened up with the front frame taken off.
This style of card gives you lots of space to show off all the prettiness of the DSP!
The writing panel for this card is best placed on the back , which gave me a great way to add another beautiful hummingbird.
And then it fold flat again for posting.
I love receiving cards with new folds and deconstructing them to see the inner workings – but don’t tell anyone that or they won’t send me fun cards anymore!!!
Hope you are finding some time to be crafty this week!
