Just Add Ink #488 | Celebrate

The Just Add Ink Design Team start every new year with a whole team blog hop.  This year we’re celebrating extra hard – 10 years and 1000 followers.  What a great achievement!  Congrats to past & present Just Add Ink contributors – to my wonderful design team colleagues and especially to the wonderful crafters to join in our challenges every week.  We appreciate you being part of the JAI magic!

The theme for the challenge is “Celebrate”.  I’ve made an interactive birthday card using a present Santa slipped into my Christmas stocking.

The Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die set cuts all the pieces needed (in the right proportions) to make a spinner card that reveals 4 different sentiments when you spin it around.  I’ve used the coordinating Lawn Fawn stamp set for perfectly sized sentiments.

The rest of my supplies are Stampin’ Up! – featuring a Birthday Bonanza theme.  This is my favourite suite from the 2020 Mini Catalogue.

Using an oval shaped makeup brush with a handle, I applied Granny Apple Green ink to the top half of my cardstock and Garden Green to the bottom.  I then flicked the whole piece with an Aqua Painter filled with water to add some texture.  I am currently obsessed with this style of ink background!

I then cut with the die and added a koala and lion cut from the Birthday Bonanza DSP.  While I don’t mind fussy cutting (and you certainly could), these little cuties are cut with the Bonanza Dies.  They cut the coordinating stamp from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set – but they also cut quite a few of the DSP images.

I love not having to worry about the colouring!  This die set also has the super cute bunting you see.  There’s also an awesome tag die that I haven’t used in this card.  I had planned to use the toucan DSP die cut on the card too, but it ended up being too busy, so I popped him in the middle.

Next stop on our DT hop is my gorgeous bestie Lou Kitzelman who has made the sweetest garden card.
