Hello! Welcome to Just Add Ink challenge #479. The theme for this hop is a fresh & cute colour combination…
The weather is just starting to warm up here in the south west of Australia. I’m predicting almost perfect weekend weather with warm sunshine and lots of time for Team Kent to play outdoors. I feel a beach day coming!!!
I love it when white is specific included in a colour challenge – it’s a great excuse to use lots of white space with a pop of colour. I’ve created a baroque style white on white background using the star flourish die from the Stitched Stars Dies in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. Although the cutting takes a little time (I think I used 6 or 7 star flourishes to create the background), it’s made so much easier by using adhesive sheet or tape on the back of the cardstock before you cut it with the die.
You’ll see this isn’t a Christmas card! Even if you don’t plan to make starry Christmas cards this year, buy these stars dies for your forever collection – you can’t go wrong! They are perfect for so many occasions!
The birthday sentiment is from the I Say Hello stamp set. I love a no fuss birthday stamp! It fits the Classic Label punch perfectly with room to snips the pointy ends off for a rectangle finish.
Thanks for visiting today! We’ve love to have you join our challenge. Click on the banner below to visit the Just Add Ink blog, see the rest of the design team cards and upload your own card to the challenge.
Have a great weekend – hope the weather is also amazing wherever you are!
Great card!
What a wonderful use of the flourish in a new and inventive way!
Great card, Kelly! I’m a sucker for all that lovely open space but it’s the pop of black over those pretty stars that really grab me.
