CASEing the Catty #237 | Layout pg 151

We have an ongoing debate about in our house about whether the week starts on a Sunday or ends on a Sunday.  I like to think Sunday is the end of the week and there’s a fresh start with work, school and other activities on the Monday.  Whichever way you look at it – thanks for stopping by on the last or first day of your week and joining us for a CASEing the Catty blog hop.

This week we’re CASEing (Copying And Sharing Everything) the layouts on page 151 of the Annual Catalogue.

No photo description available.

I have chosen the layout at the bottom right as the inspiration for my card.

Using the Perennial Essence DSP as my background, the Band Together bundle forms the sentiment cluster at the bottom.

Band Together has been a surprise love for me in the new catalogue.  It features a stamp set with a beautiful font, a pretty floral and a variety of sentiments.  The die set has  a mix of flourish bands, stamp cutouts and fabulous labels..

To emulate the inspiration card, I have used a Stitched Oval in vellum, a Detailed Bands label in Whisper White (embossed with the Subtle EF) and a Detailed Bands band in Rococo Rose.  The sentiment has been masked and heat embossed in white on Blushing Bride.

The machine stitching all the way around the card border is what enticed me to CASE this layout.  I {LOVE} machine stitching on cards.  The concept art team at Stampin’ Up! must do also – there’s lots of samples in the catalogue with stitching.

I’ve also embellished the inside of this card.  Apart from my 2019 resolution to make more of an effort on the inside, there’s a couple of other reasons – the card front is quite heavy with lots of layers, so adding extra layers to the inside helps keep the card from sliding out and I wanted to use the other pretty stamps in the set including the happy birthday!

I’m a sucker for a stamp set with a good happy birthday theme!  Add in a great matching die set and you know it’s going to be a favourite in my craft stash!

  1. The Band Together Bundle wasn’t on my wish list straight away but after looking back through the catalogue a few times it has really stood out and is on my next “to get” list. Beautiful card and the DSP works so well with the beautiful font and delicate dies.

  2. So according to my old week to a view diary the week started on a Monday, but in my new one the week starts on a Sunday 😂 So I’ll have to adjust to that. Love your beautiful card with all those details. I love how even though the sentiment cluster is quite layered and detailed it doesn’t distract from that beautiful DSP but compliments it perfectly.

  3. love love love love. The DSP is gorgeous. And the lots of layers greeting is just wonderful. And the inside of the card is just as stunning! Beautiful card.
