Thanks for joining the Stamp Review Crew hop today as we share with you our projects using the Piece of Cake stamp set. Tour the world for some new ideas for this gorgeous set (and also the coordinating punch – Cake Builder).
I’ve used this hop as a chance to freshen up my use of this stamp set by mixing it with the new Stitched Lace Die.
It was also a chance to make a wedding card with this set. I’ve mostly used this for a birthday theme – but I just love the font & styling of the “Mr & Mrs” so when planning for this hop, I knew that’s the type of card I wanted to make!.Which was actually perfect, because the Stitched Lace Die just screams wedding!!!
My colour palette for this card is Whisper White, Seaside Spray (one of the new In Colors) and Night of Navy. Add in silver foil for the cake stand and a touch of Rococo Rose & Pretty Peacock for the cake flowers and we have a soft & pretty wedding card.
The Stitched Lace Die is a wonderful background for the cake. The bottom piece (Whisper White) is 5-5/10″ x 3-7/8″. I’ve then cut a piece of Seaside Spray at 4-1/4″ x 2-3/4.. Once cut, I lined it up with the pattern on the Whisper White piece and trimmed the excess from the top & bottom. I love the two tone effect when lined up seamlessly.
Cake are wonderful symbols of celebration, so I know you’re going to see many wonderful ideas for this set as you continue the hop with my sweet friend Cindy Elam.
Thanks for joining us today.
