CASEing the Catty #226 | CASE a Layout

Hello Sunday – and hello you!

It’s the last day of our school holidays here in Western Australia.  I love school holidays, but I know the kids are excited to get back to school and see their friends.  Bon voyage to lazy mornings, fun activities and no packed lunches!  To add to the fun, it’s swimming lessons this week – so that’s a whole extra layer of organised for me!!!

What better to do to distract myself than hide out in the craft room!

Sunday brings us another CASEing the Catty blog hop.  There’s only a few more for this catalogue cycle before we jump feet first into a new Annual Catalogue.  We’re running for the finish line with a series of ‘favourites’ themes – starting with CASE a favourite layout.

No photo description available.

Surprisingly, this challenge was a little hard to get started.  CASEing layouts is my favourite thing to do, but with 2 catalogues full of amazing samples, it was difficult to select a favourite one!

I ended up choosing the Bouquet Blooms card on the bottom of page 167.  After lots of flicking through the catalogue, this card stood out for it’s contrast to my usual cardstock placement.  I’m very much an ‘in the centre’ or ‘bottom right’ girl.  So the fact that this card had the layering panel at the top left corner, made it a perfect CASE to make me change it up!

Although I kept the features of the layout, I changed the stamp set and styling of the card.  With so many of my favourite stamp sets on the retirement list, these challenges are a good opportunity to get some of them inky once again.

My card features the Needle & Thread stamp set & Needlepoint Elements dies.

The blues for this card were inspired by the butterfly patterned DSP in this suite.  Blue is is a fun choice for flowers!

I don’t always decorate the inside of the card (I should though) but it seemed perfect to continue the background stamping through to the middle (just like in the inspiration pic!).

I’m really going to miss this stamp set & bundle!  The dies in the set are so sweet and the flowers are so easy to layer.

Did you notice the border die from the Needlepoint Elements set that coordinates with the Pretty Label Punch – oh my!!!

Be sure that you’ve secured everything from your 2018-2019 shopping list, because once the 2019 catalogues end on 3rd June, it’s see-ya-later to the retirement list items.

Click here to browse the retirement list in the online store.  Products available while stocks last.

On the up side, the 4th June has a new catalogue coming our way.  I’ve had a sneak peek and it’s glorious!!!

For more creative ideas, please keep hopping by visiting the gorgeous Peta Stephen and her purrrrfect assistant Marv.  I bet Marv is glad the Cat Punch makes an appearance in the new catalogue!

Thanks for spending your Sunday night crafting with me!

Until next week,
