Hello! It’s been a quiet week on the blog, so I’m excited to have snuck in some craft time to be able to share a Just Add Ink card with you.
It’s a photo inspiration challenge – chosen by Jo.. Does that photo make you want to drop everything and spend the morning (or day) sipping on tea at the cafe???
I pulled together elements from the card to make a peekaboo style birthday card.
It’s plain on the front – inspired by the Mint Macaron wooden windows and chalkboard menu…
And then opens up…
…. to reveal the birthday message!
I used magnets to help with a good close when flat.
The shimmery sentiment was achieved by using several inkings & the Stamparatus. I first stamped the whole stamp in Blushing Bride. Then I added Flirty Flamingo across the middle of the stamp with a sponge dauber and then Lovely Lipstick across the bottom before restamping on top of the Blushing Bride image. And finally, I added Frost White Shimmer Paint directly to the stamp with a sponge dauber before stamping a third time.
This card was so much fun to make! I’m not sure I’ve made anything previously with the Barn Door bundle, but it was perfect for my vision for the photo inspiration.
We’d love for you to join us over at the Just Add Ink blog. Check out what the other design team members have made and add your own crafty project to the link up to enter the challenge.
See you for the next challenge!

What a fabulous card, with a real ‘pow’! The hidden message is fantastic, and I love that you’ve given it an ombre effect.
What fun Kelly – I had to see what was behind your barn doors and what better than this bold birthday greeting?!
