Thanks for joining us for tonight’s CASEing the Catty blog hop. We’re sharing projects we’ve made using the Needlepoint Nook section of the catalogue.
This suite is one of my favourites from the 2019 Occasions catalogue. I love the colour palette, the beautiful photographic patterns in the DSP and the fabulous bundle. So it was easy for me to find something inspiring in the catalogue to join this challenge.
After seeing the fabulous pop up froggie card Jay Soriano made for the Creating Kindness Blog hop (see it here), I’ve had it on my agenda to make one. Jay has an excellent tutorial video on his blog post and has kindly shared all the measurements.
Using the catalogue card on the bottom right of the picture above as the inspiration for the colours & styling of my card, I created my first Spinner Pop Up card. It starts off simple on the front…
But then opens up for all the fun!
Like so many fancy fold cards, the spinner section where all the magic happens needs to be built a particular way, but once you have that down pat, you are only limited by your imagination. The panel on the right of the card tucks in behind the front panel when folded and then pops up on a spinner arm when the card is opened.
I’ve used the same DSP, floral arrangement, vellum and ribbon to style the card. The sentiment has been altered to fit and I’ve added pearls for a touch of elegance.
I’ve taken a short video to show you the finished card in action…
This card would look create in so many different colour themes. Now that I’ve made one, there’ll be no stopping me. Thanks to Jay for a great tutorial. To be able to make your own Spinner Pop Up Card, visit Jay’s blog – Mitosu Crafts.
If you’re inspired by pages 38-41 of the Occasions Catalogue, please share your project with us on the CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge Facebook group.
There’s Needlepoint & more to come on this blog hop. Next to visit is the fabulous Rose Packer in Victoria.
Thanks for hopping with us!

Oh Wow, that’s a snazzy card Kelly. Another one to try I guess.
This is amazing and so much fun! And I love your colours and images. It’s so beautiful. Might have to add this project to my wish list of projects to try!
This is so cool! I will have to try this one out. And that embossing is to die for – so beautiful. Thanks for sharing
Love love love! I adore the colour combination and all the different elements you’ve used and that spinner certainly packs a wow punch. What a great surprise because while the front is lovely it doesn’t really tell you what a treat you’re in for on the inside! Super cool card.
Also, “there’s needlepoint and more”. Punny.
Oh wow, what a fun card! Someone will be very lucky to receive this gorgeous card.
Great card Kelly and great fancy fold too. Love the colours you’ve used. I’ll definitely have to try one of these.
Wow what a stunning card!! I love fancy folds too. So pretty in that DSP.
