It’s time to hop again with my talented Paper Adventures team!
The theme for this month is ‘wheels’. It’s a diverse theme and I can’t wait for you to see the whole range of projects the team has come up with. Keep clicking on the next button at the end of each post to hop around. There’s 6 of us joining in, including our gorgeous guest designer – Judy May from Victoria. Thanks Judy!
If you’re the parent of a young person, or have grandies watching tv, you may already be familiar with the subject of my card today. For everyone else, meet Buster the Bus.
This special card is for a gorgeous little man who turns 3 next month and is obsessed with Buster.
It was fun to get back to some punch art. As my kids have grown, I haven’t has as many reasons to make characters for cards.
To make Buster:
Bus sign: Pineapple Punch rectangle (1-5/8″ wide) plus Whisper White Classic Label punch (ends snipped off). Sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Memento Tuxedo Black
Bus body: Pineapple Punch rectangle with rounded corners (3-1/2″ x 4″)
Windscreen: Basic Black & Basic Gray rectangle with the bottom edge hand cut into an arc (3-1/4″ x 1-3/4″)
Wipers: Basic Black U shape from Apron Builder Framelits cut down to size
Mirrors: Basic Black U shape from Apron Builder Framelits plus leg from Cookie Cutter Builder punch – double cut into oval shape
Eyes (in order from largest to smallest circle): Basic Black Layering Circle die (smallest size), Whisper White 1″ circle punch, Blueberry Bushel 1/2″ circle punch, Basic Black Cookie Cutter Builder punch, Whisper White Cookie Cutter Builder punch
Mouth: Whisper White Cookie Cutter Builder punch – top portion of head, coloured with Dark Basic Black & Dark Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends
Wheels: Basic Black Story Label punch
Lots of work fiddling with pieces to get the punch art right – but it’s so much fun! Messy with small bits of cardstock everywhere…. but fun! And when it all comes together – it’s definitely a wow moment.
Next up on our Paper Adventures team heap is our guest designer, Judy May. I love Judy’s work – it’s always so elegant.
