How good was the Just Add Ink blog hop last week?
We’re back to regular programming from this week with the usual range of fabulous challenge themes. You can see all the design team cards this week over on the Just Add Ink blog. Click here to visit, and also share your creation with us.
The theme for this week is photo inspiration using this yummy picture chosen by Jo.
I used the gorgeous colours of the frosting to create a fold out butterfly themed card. What colours do you see?? I pulled out HIghland Heather, Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride.
The card folds out to the left – and the right! This is the middle panel….
To create this card, I cut an A4 piece of cardstock in half lengthways (your typical card base). I then cut 10-3/8″, keeping the piece from the edge for the right side flap.
The right side flap was scored at 2-5/8″ and the tab adhered to the back of the right side of the card.
Like everyone else, I’m loving all the butterflies in the catalogue at the moment. So many butterflies! I coloured each type of butterflies in a different way.
The little butterflies are stamped in Memento ink, coloured using sponge daubers, highlights added with Stampin’ Blends and punched using the Butterfly Duet punch. The halo dots were inspired by the Beauty Abounds stamp set (it’s on my very next order – you know when you don’t know you need something until everyone else has it and you don’t!!). I made them by pressing the sponge dauber to create a circle.
The big butterfly was die cut using the Butterfly Beauty die (trimmed to just the single large butterfly), coloured using sponge daubers and then spritzed with Shimmer Paint (mixed with Isocol alcohol).
The medium butterfly on the inside was stamped in Memento ink, coloured using Stampin’ Blends and punched using the Butterfly Duet punch.
Thank you for visiting today! Make sure to check in with the Just Add Ink blog for the rest of the design team cards – as always there’s so many ideas from one starting point!
We’d love for you to join the challenge and share your card inspired by those scrumptious cupcakes!!
