Just Add Ink #420 | Photo Inspiration

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by to see my design team card for Just Add Ink this week.  One of the things I love the most about regular participation with Just Add Ink is the variety of challenges – it pushes you to create based on lots of different inspiration.

Today is a gorgeous photo inspiration chosen by Nikki.

The design team have come up with some fabulous bright & fun creations – and I can’t wait to see what you make too!  Join our challenge by linking your blog, Facebook, Instagram or Pinterest post on the Just Add Ink blog.

The photo can inspire any feature of your project design.  For me, it was the bright colours of the flower.  But you may also be taken by a floral theme, the petal pattern or another element that catches your eye.

I used the petal colours to create a watercoloured ink spill…

Which I then completed with a black & white theme to keep the bright colorus in focus.

The ‘just a note’ sentiment is from the Soft Sayings card kit.  Don’t let these stamp sets sit forgotten in the box – they are always filled with diverse & useful sayings, different fonts and can be a refreshing change from the sentiments that form part of your regular rotation.

The pen has been stamped in StazOn & fussy cut, with the detail added using the Journal Pen.

Week to week, my style and interest (although often similar) goes through periods of change.  At the moment, I’m enjoying watercolouring – which is something I haven’t enjoyed previously.  The more you do something, the more natural it seems.

I’m challenging you to try something this weekend that you’ve previously avoided.  Perhaps you bought Brushos but never used them.  Maybe you never use heat embossing on your cards. Perhaps you’re still learning how to use your Stamparatus?

Get out those tools & supplies you paid good money for and have a go! If your first (… second, third, forth) attempt doesn’t seem to work, set it aside and look at it again with fresh eyes.  I’ve come back to so many ‘failures’ only to find they look better once dry, or less ‘failed’ when I’ve had time to distance myself.

Good luck!!!
