Thanks for stopping by! Today I’m sharing a card made for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. It’s a Choose Two theme with three texture choices to get those creative juices going!
I don’t often craft with purple as the main colour, but I was drawn to the two new amazing purple tones introduced as part of the colour refresh – Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape!
I used splatters of both purples to create a watercolour background and I then added water speckles to remove some of the colour. I’ve been meaning to try this technique for a while – it was lots of fun!
To make the flowers on the sentiment shine, I added extra watercolour to those segments and finished with a couple of coats of Clear Wink of Stella for some extra sparkly speckles.
Did you spy the Stamparatus in the new catalogue??? It’s available again to order at the absolutely amazing price of $85.
It came in so handy for this card as I needed to ink the ‘hello’ stamp about 6 times in StazOn to get a solid image. The ripple effect of the watercolour paper means the letters weren’t as solid as I wanted (even after 6 rounds of ink), so I used the Black Journaling Pen to fill in the layers.
There’s lots of amazing creations, as always, from the Just Add Ink Design Team this week. Visit the blog to see what they’ve made and add your Choose Two entry.
Can’t wait to see all those splatters, speckles & spots!!!

Love, love, love! A truly beautiful creation, Kelly – and I love how you have combined the 2 purples. D xox
I adore this. Looks absolutely fabulous. I love both these new colours.
Oh, my! Your card is so dreamy! The watercolour background looks amazing.
Stunning card, Kelly! Such a fabulous background! I love how your layers of the purples really soften the black details and your framing details make this so elegant too. xx
Beautifully done Kelly! I wasn’t a fan of the new purples, actually just purple in general, but this has convinced me to have a play with them.
That background is stunning! Xx
