Just Add Ink #389 | Inspiration

It’s about this time of the year I start getting Snowflake Fatigue!  The timing of this week’s Just Add Ink challenge is perfect!

Everything in this picture says Australian Christmas to me from the colours to the gum leaves!

My card is inspired by an Australian Bush Christmas theme….

Apart from the sentiment, all the elements are from the non-Christmas product range.  There’s no such thing as ‘just a birthday set’.

The wreath is from Hello Friend, the gumnuts are from Happy Birthday, Gorgeous and the Wood Textures DSP is part of the everyday DSP range.

The floral elements from the Christmas set – Merry Mistletoe – even work well for a quick spruce of the inside….

I’m sure there isn’t a child who attended Kindy in Australia that doesn’t remember spray painting gumnuts silver or gold to make Christmas decorations!  I wonder if they still do that?

I’m not sure if the availability of Pinterest has made Kindy teaching easier or harder?  I take my hat off to all teachers – it’s a rollercoaster of a job!  An hour in a classroom and I’m exhausted!

Thanks for joining me today!  Hopefully your Christmas card creating is going well.  I have much more ambition than time, so there’s a chance I’ll be extending the Christmas spirit through til January.  Or maybe Feb!!!

  1. This is gorgeous Kelly! I love how you’ve created an Aussie themed card using the every day sets – so very clever!! I remember in NZ we used to spray paint pine cones at school…is this another pavlova moment do you think 🙂 xx

  2. Beautiful Kelly – I have looked at the happy Birthday Gorgeous set just for those gumnuts!.
…and I still love a spray painted bit of nature!! – and I didn’t even go to kindy, but luckily my Mum was uber creative.

  3. This is gorgeous Kelly – I love how you gave the wreath an Aussie spin with the gleaming gum nuts. (Shall I confess now I hadn’t even realised there was a gum nut stamp!) xxx
