Today is the day!!! We’re up early and ready to spend the day immersed in all things Stampin’ Up!
One of the highlights of OnStage for many demos is participating in swaps.
Generally, you make multiples of the same design and “swap” these with other demonstrators – building a supply of fresh ideas & inspiration.
Each event, I try to make something interesting – which often ends up being a 3D item.
This time around, I took a ‘shine’ to the You’re Priceless stamp set which set me on the path of diamonds.
So, my OnStage 2017 Melbourne swaps is a lollipop packaged in a diamond sleeve with a stained glass diamond on the front.
These would make great party favours for a princess party, gifts of encouragement for your team or a cute just because gift to brighten someone’s day!
The diamond shape is created using the Window Box Thinlit. Instead of making it into a box, I put a folded piece of cardstock and cut the hexagon shape. I then snipped off the bottom corners and created the pretty pattern on the front using the die from the Window Box set. The design already has tabs, so it was easy to make a pouch for the lollipop to sit in.
As I’m typing this, I’m thinking it needs more photos, so I’ll add a quick photo tutorial or video when I get home!
The stained glass diamonds are made by cutting the diamond shapes from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits in Champagne Foil and pouring a mix of silver glitter & Fine Tip Glue over the top.
I laid them out on a freezer sheet (because I had many – the silicone craft mat available from Stampin’ Up! also works well). You can add the glue & then sprinkle with glitter, but I just poured the glitter into the Fine Tip Glue bottle and shook well.
Once they were dry, I cut away the extra glue from around the diamond and adhered them to my lollipop project.
The stained glass technique adds a great bling factor a project!
How cute do they all look ready to give out today!
I can’t wait to see the amazing projects my fellow demonstrators share with me today.
And then after we swap, it’s the main event! A whole day of new products!!!
Think you might want to be a part of the fun at a future Stampin’ Up! event? Join my Paper Adventures team and you can! I’m secretly hoping the April 2018 event will be in Perth – we’ll know soon!!!
