Grandad Papercraft is celebrating his birthday today.
I’ve been saving this DSP from the Wood Textures stack for the right kind of card. I didn’t know what that special card was going to be til I started to put something together for Dad.Mum & Dad moved into a new house last year. The new house has a wood fire, so he’s been busy over the winter stocking up the wood piles (and then burning through them).
These stacked logs were the perfect background for a masculine birthday card.
I’m a big fan of the ‘cluster’ card at the moment where you can add embellishments in groups to create layers & texture.
The leaves from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits seemed like a perfect fit for the wood DSP.
Of my 2017 goals for card making was to pay more attention to the inside of cards.
For the first time ever (I think!), I’ve used DSP as a whole layer on the inside of the card.
It feels strange to write on the DSP – but it look amazing!!!
Happy birthday to Grandad Papercraft. We’ve enjoyed celebrating with you!
This is so striking – love that paper! And the DSP inside is fantastic. I’ll have to keep that in mind and look for others that would work well used that way.
Wow that is really really so appropriate. Love all of it.
Great card Kelly! I hope Grandad Papercraft had a wonderful birthday. Mandy x
