Just Add Ink #376 Add D

We recently (well it seems recently, it’s a couple of months ago!) added 5 new design team members to the Just Add Ink Design Team in guest designer roles.

I was excited to hear this week that they have all decided to stay with the design team forever!

So, a big {permanent} welcome to Denita Wright-Smee, Jackie Aitken, Jo Stubbings, Lou Kitzelman & Rachael Lewsley.

You can visit their blogs by clicking on their names above.

Some of them are joining us this week for our Just Add “D” challenge suggested by Tina.

We’d like to see something on your card that you can link to a word or theme starting with “D”.

With this challenge in mind, I was inspired to make cards for the new Design Team members.

There’s a Dapper Denim colour theme, a dazzling dragonfly, glitter dots and diamantes.

It’s fun thinking of all the ‘d’ elements!!!

The watercolour background for this card was ‘smooshed’ using ink collected from my Dapper Denim ink pad on a cello bag, spritzed with water then ‘smooshed’ onto the cardstock.

Still my favourite way to add watercolour.  I’m terrible at getting a nice even splash using my Aqua Painter – this is so simple!

The sentiment is from the “Born To Be Loved” stamp set – which I think was designed as a baby set, but the sentiments are perfect for a range of situations.

Like celebrating exciting news!

To see all the projects from the design team, visit the Just Add Ink blog.

While you are there, join in the ‘Add D’ challenge by sharing your creation with us using the link up tool.

Danke for visiting!

  1. This is stunning Kelly! Love that your “D” option is the Dragonfly…very clever and that background is a perfect watercolour effect…beautifully done! xx

  2. I thought I was so clever coming up with a message containing lots of d’s until I read Jackie’s comment! So darn it! Seriously though – thank you for making such a beautiful card for us. It meant more than you might know to both receive this card and the reason behind it. Dank u wel!

  3. Such a stunning card Kelly! Your smooshed background has so much lovely detail and your dragonfly is such a fabulous D element too! Such a lovely reason to make a card 😊xx

  4. You are just delightful, Kelly. What a lovely way to welcome the new teamies & with so many D’s too. I LOVE this design & your smooshed background – a technique I just can’t get my head around. Hugs, D 🙂
