Hello! And welcome to the first Stamp Review Crew blog hop for September. We (a fabulous group of international demonstrators) hop twice a month – all using the same stamp set.
If you’re already hopping, then you’ve visited the gorgeous Linda Callahan. Next stop after me is over to Mike Funke who always makes great use of the stamp set!
Today, we’re sharing projects we’ve made using the Crafting Forever stamp set.
This set doubles as the Angel Policy copyright set available in the Annual Catalogue.
Did you know that Stampin’ Up! encourages you to sell your handcrafted projects to family/friends, at markets and online? All they ask is that you follow their Angel Policy and use a copyright stamp on your project. The policy applies to both demonstrators and customers selling their creations made using Stampin’ Up! products.
Most of the time, this goes on the back of your card along with your contact information…
You can find more information about Stampin’ Up!’s Angel Policy here.
Now to the projects!
I haven’t made anything using shrink plastic in a while, so for my projects today, I’ve made some little scissor charms and added them to my creations.
These are super easy to make! Simply stamp the scissor stamp on white shrink plastic (get this online or at your local craft store) in Basic Black Archival Ink. Allow to dry (or not – but it’ll smudge….. I was a little impatient and you can see some of the smudging!).
Once dry, colour the image using Sharpies (or any other alcohol based markers you own). Cut around the shape with your snips and if you want to be able to attach it, punch a hole in the corner.
Then place the pieces between two pieces of vellum on a baking tray into a pre-heated 150 degrees Celsius oven (check the instructions on the brand of shrink plastic you buy, but this worked for me) for a couple of minutes.
Voila! You end up with cute little scissor charms.
You can also make decorative labels by stamping the sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink and cutting with one of our punches (I used the Pretty Label Punch).
Once I had my charms made, it was time to add them to a pretty project!
The first one I had in mind was scissor charms! Depending on who you hang out with, you might know a few stamping buddies that have scissors very similar to yours!
Add personalised charm to your scissors so you’ll know which ones to claim as yours – in the most stylish way possible!
I also added some of my favourite ribbons & trim to add some colour. Apart from the pretty factor, I had an ulterior motive – my craft desk is black and I always seem to lose my scissors!!! This will brighten them up and hopefully they’ll jump out at me when I’m looking.
The next project was, of course, a card – complete with one of my most favourite new DSP patterns! This gorgeous green mix is from the Painted Autumn DSP that has just been released in the new Holiday Catalogue.
I love a good banner, ribbon & DSP card, and the scissor charm worked well with the design.
I wouldn’t have picked it at the start of the Annual Catalogue earlier this year, but Tranquil Tide is fast becoming a favourite of mine!!!
I was actually disappointed that I didn’t have any Tranquil Tide ribbon in my stash! I’ll be fixing that little issue on my next order!
If you’ve never tried your Stampin’ Up! stamps with shrink plastic, then buy some soon and have a go! It’s fun and give extra possibilities (smaller but awesome) to all the stamps you own!
To keep looking at wonderful creations with this stamp set, hop over to Mike Funke and see his fantastic creativity….
Thanks for joining us,

How funny Kelly. I just finished up 35 of these yesterday as 3-D swaps for OnStage Live in November. I hadn’t seen anyone do it, and here I thought “I” was the clever one! Yours are very cute.
