I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish during August and the Faux Woodgrain technique was one of them.
Several of my demonstrator friends have been showing their flashy cards on social media and they *promised* me it was the easiest technique ever!
Turns out… it is!
With the help of this great tutorial video by Carolyn Bennie, we used this technique during my August demonstrator class.
It uses Glossy White cardstock and ‘swipes’ of ink directly from your ink pad. The best part is – no two pieces are ever going to look the same.
It was the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous ballerina from the new Sugarplum Dreams stamp set in the newly released Holiday Catalogue.
Having 2 girls, the ballerina was a ‘must have’ for me!!!
I’m also excited to play with the other stamps in this set, but the ballerina was the first Holiday Catalogue item I purchased and the first I used!
Also in August, I used it in a completely different colour scheme to make a more rich & regal card for a friend…
The sentiment that comes with the stamp set is gorgeous…
There’s a few other Holiday Catalogue products in there if you spy closely – Quilt Top Embossing Folder & Year of Cheer Washi Tape.
Have you looked through the new catalogue yet? What’s top of your list???
Need a place to order – jump over to my online store. It’s open 24-7 and accepts transactions conducted in pyjamas!
