Global Design Project #077 – Pocket Shaker Card

It’s a bit quieter for me this week with blog hops, so I thought I’d take a pause from all the cards on my to-do list and just make – for the total fun of making!!!

I have no idea who I will give this card to, or what is it for (yet), but it sure was fun to make!

It combined a few of the things that have been on my mind lately – linking in for another Global Design Project challenge, using my sewing machine and creating a shaker pocket.

This is the GPD #077 colour challenge

My free choice was Flirty Flamingo to brighten up the existing trio.

I love the base colours the team has chosen – they could go anywhere!!!

I went bright, sparkly – and of course, fun!

I loved putting together the shaker pocket!

I sewed around 2 sheets of window sheet with my old clunky sewing machine, leaving a small gap at the top.

Using a straw I filled it with the Sprinkles embellishments and then without the straw, slid in some sequins I pulled off the Bermuda Bay sequin trim.

This then gave me the cute twine you see for the bow at the top.

I always find it tricky to photograph reflective surfaces!  Here’s a another picture.

It shows the colours better than the full sun pics above – but can you see the shadow of my phone & hand?  Eek!  I’m going to a photography course on Monday – so lets see if that helps me!!!

Thanks to GDP for hosting a great colour challenge!

I love the element of choice!  Be sure to head over the GDP gallery to see the other entries (and may upload one of your own?)!!
