It’s back to school day here for Miss Papercraft and I know there won’t be any tears in our house.
And why would there with oodles of new stationary to get acquainted with!?! She’s a demo in the making!
I went the easy (lazy) route this year for school supplies.
The school ordered the stationary for me, Spencil provided the book covers, pencil case, chair cover & backpack and the ever so lovely Madonna at Bold Badger Designs made me pencil labels.
Effort level – minimum, success level – high!
All that time efficiency did leave me a little extra time to get creative, so decided that rather than send Miss P with a naked pencil tin, I’d jazz it up a bit for her with my stamping supplies.
I’m sure I could have also streamlined the pencil tin too, but the booklist suggested a recycled canned fruit tin – and Miss P was excited about eating a tin of peaches!
So, this is my ‘upcycled’ pencil holder…
It features burlap ribbon & Whisper White baker’s twine around the middle…
And a ‘tag’ for my special Miss, reminding her how amazing she is (not that she lacks any confidence – oh to be 5 again!).
The tag is made using the Swirly Scribbles dies, Stitched Framelits, Large Letters and the Bitty Butterfly from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.
The sentiment comes from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set (‘are’ stolen from ‘carefree’) and ‘you’ from the Endless Thanks stamp set.
And just like that, my big girl is off to year 1!
{with a cool pencil tin!}

That is the coolest pencil tin!! Bet all the kids are jealous. I ordered some pencil labels from Madonna too – awesome service and lovely product.
Thanks Melissa! Hope your girls have a fabulous first week back at school!
I love your practicality Kelly….yes it’s a tin, but I bet it’s the best decorated tin in the class!
