Did you love the switch to Facebook for CASEing the Catty last week? We had so many amazing entries CASEing the projects from the Party Animal suite & next few pages of the catalogue. Overall for CTC#110 we were CASEing pages 4-7 of the Occasions Catalogue.
Quite a few people thought they couldn’t participate because they didn’t have the stamp sets in this section.
Hopefully, we’re getting the message out – but just in case you missed it – CTC isn’t about recreating the sample projects in the catalogue, but more taking whatever inspiration you can from the photos. It might be the layout, colour combination, design feature, stamp set or overall theme.
Let the catalogue start your creative process and see what you come up with! It’d be great to see more stampers join in again this week.
This week is CTC#111 and it’s all about introducing the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.
The crew has free range on the whole catalogue this week – I can’t wait to see what sparks everyone’s attention.
For me, it’s another Inside the Lines card – the paper has 4 designs and I’m working my way through them! You can see two of them here.
My card is a variation of the design at the bottom right of the sample picture above (with perhaps a touch of the top right too):
To achieve this look, I brayered the DSP with Rose Red ink and then coloured the flowers & dragonfly with my new Watercolor Pencils before giving the flowers a once over with an Aqua Painter.
Adding water to the pencils smooths the colour & blends it beautifully.
How pretty is the Rose Red? One of my team pointed out that I rarely use Rose Red. Here you go Anne – Rose Red in action!
The dragonfly is embossed in copper, and so is the sentiment, which is from the Sale-A-Bration set “Any Occasion”.
I’m making the effort in 2017 to decorate the insides of my cards.
I’m on beginner level, so it’s a strip of DSP, some dragonflies and a birthday sentiment!
It does add another layer of love to the card.
I’m sure the projects on this hop will inspire some wonderful creativity and add a little more to your wishlist!
Next stop is Miss Rachel and her lovely designs.
If you {NEED} those Sale-A-Bration items in your craft room, it’s a choice of 12 – one per $90 you spend with Stampin’ Up! until 31st March 2017.
Shop online or email me to get your order on the way.
If you’ve got time to craft this week, consider joining our challenge via Facebook.
Simply be inspired by any of the photos in the Sale-A-Bration 2017 catalogue and upload your card to the challenge album.
Can’t wait to see what you make!
Beautiful job Kel as always love the colours you have used x
Awesome work. And the RoseRed does look very pretty. I love the idea of brayering and then colouring too.
Love your background!! I have painted a wall in my craft room Rose Red. Love how you have decorated in the inside as well.
Love it Kelly. Rose Red and copper look great!
Beautifully coloured card Kelly ! Awesome job !
Love the colouring with the layers Kelly. You are right – decorating the inside does add extra love xx
I love the way you have used the brayer then coloured – very effective. I’m interested that you used an aquapainter to blend the colour. I had trouble with an aquapainter and this paper – you must need a very light hand with the water!
Loving the brayering too, must order some of those spongey things. The finished insides are very nice and they don’t have to be too fancy, yours is just perfect Kelly .
I am in love with this dsp and love the colouring just makes your dragonfly pop.
Such a gorgeous card, Kelly! Love the Rose Red as a background for the dragonfly. The inside is super too :).
