Stamp Review Crew – Sale-A-Bration 2017

2017-sab-banner

Hello!  Today you’ve joined us for a bonus hop with the Stamp Review Crew.

The Crew will be sharing creations that highlight stamp sets from the 2017 Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

It’s a ‘free for all’ – so I can’t wait to see the variety on this international showcase.

I’m highlighting the Tasty Trucks stamp set – it’s so fun & cute!!!

I’ve already made a food truck or 2 with this set (and used the sentiments lots!).

Since I love looking for alternative uses within a stamp set, especially on SRC hops, I’ve thought outside the box and created 3 ideas that will help you to get the most from Tasty Trucks.

#1 – Birthday Banners

Don’t forget about the little stamps in set.  They often make great backgrounds – like this colourful & bright banner card.

#2 – Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Miss Papercraft got invited to a teddy bear’s picnic birthday party – what a cool theme!!!

I’ve paired the tasty food stamps with the bear from Cookie Cutter Christmas (which is still available in my online store) and the gingham pattern from Succulent Garden DSP.

#3 – Vintage Caravan Goodbye

I’ve been seeing some great adaptations of the food truck into other things, which got me thinking – it’s almost a caravan…

With a few alterations, this is my version of a vintage campervan…

I hope you enjoyed my ideas for the Tasty Trucks stamp set.

My projects form part of a blog hop, so continue on to see what Charlene has made using her Sale-A-Bration goodies.

If there’s a broken link anywhere along the hop, head back to the main page, where you’ll find a full list of participants.

Have a great day – I hope it involves stamping (or tasty treats!).

CASEing the Catty #113 Sale-A-Bration

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Happy Sunday & welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday blog hop.

Each week a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand create projects that are inspired by selected pages from a current Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

It may be a colour scheme, embellishment feature, layout, design or product use that catches our attention.

Today we’re CASEing the first section of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

This includes the Avant Garden stamp set and Carried Away Designer Series Paper.

CASEing the Catty #113 - Sale-A-Bration pg 4-7

Both of these products are great – and free with any $90 purchase ($110 in NZ).  There’s no limits, so you can earn the whole catalogue if you’ve got a big wishlist!!!

I’m currently getting lots of use from the Carried Away DSP and matching Lift Me Up bundle.

My project today was a birthday card that matched the styling of the scrapbook page on page 6.

I loved the layout and it came at perfect time to create a birthday card for a work colleague whose name would fit beautifully on the front.

I do love a personalised card!!!

CTC#113 - Sale-A-Bration. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com

I replicated the balloons as a background feature and carried over the large letters for her name.

The scrapbook page used the medium size balloon – I used the smallest size.

How awesome that the dies come in multiple sizes – perfect for every project!!

One of the things I love most about this project is the added little details on many of the balloons!

CTC#113 - Sale-A-Bration. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com

All but one of the balloon as are die cut except one – which is heat embossed.  What a cool touch!  The SU! designers are so clever!

Of course, because it was her birthday, I needed a birthday stamp too!

For this card I used one from the Tasty Trucks stamp set – which is also a Sale-A-Bration reward.

That’s all from me today.  Next up on the hop is the ever delightful Kathryn

Just Add Ink #344 Photo Inspiration

Just Add Ink #344 - Photo Inspiration

How gorgeous is this photo inspiration for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge?

As you’ll see with the design team projects, there’s lot to take from such a vibrant & fun picture!

This photo sat with me for a moment, while my mojo took it’s time to kick in.

But in a flash of  inspiration, I decided I’d use the lady as a key layout element and turn the photo into a sketch!

Just Add Ink #344 - Photo Inspiration. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I kept the water ripples as a background element but added in an ombre pattern by layering Pool Party, Tempting Turquoise & Bermuda Bay in the Seaside Embossing Folder.

The main element is the new Star Blast Edgelit die.  I’m having lots of fun using this!

Just Add Ink #344 - Photo Inspiration. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I added in a few of my other new products too.

  • Happy Birthday sentiment from one of the hostess stamp sets in the Occasions catalogue – Iconic Occasions
  • Sale-A-Bration Metallic Ribbon
  • Urban Underground Washi Tape

There’s lots to be tempted by in the new catalogue!!!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team cards by visiting the Just Add Ink blog.

We’d love to see you join in too.  Upload your project inspired by the photo using the linky tool on the blog.

Happy crafting!!!

Colour INKspiration #02

colour-inspiration-banner

Wow – didn’t the first week of Colour INKspiration go off with a bang???

Thanks for joining us. If you haven’t yet and want to see what all the hype is about, click here to request to join us on the Facebook page.

Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge –

The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.

Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.

Then it’s over to you with a 12 day period for crafters to upload their own creations using the challenge colours.

If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook.  The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist.

Challenge #2 is a mix of earthy greens & blues, a soft purple and the stark contrast of Whisper White.

Colour INKspiration #02

I {LOVE} the inspiration picture and have stored this away to use this as photo inspiration in the future.

Actually, how beautiful would one look in real life – I’ll have to see if my fave succulent supplier The Fairy Gardener can make me something similiar.

For these colours, I wanted to try them with the new Big on Birthdays stamp set from the Occasions catalogue.

It’s a 12 piece set with large sentiments and awesome fonts!!!

This card breaks a few of my colour ‘rules’ (I never use Wisteria, “blue & green shouldn’t be seen”) – but that’s what colour challenges are all about!!!

Wisteria Wonder for the flowers, Mint Macaron for the leaves, white background & Soft Sky card base.

Colour INKspiration #CI02 - Big on Birthdays. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Once I’d finished the card, I decided it needed something to lift it – since the Wisteria is such a dark colour, especially in marker form.

So, I added Fine Tip Glue pen over all the flowers – creating a glossy finish.

Colour INKspiration #CI02 - Big on Birthdays. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

It looks awesome & was the extra pizzazz the card needed!

What’s your tip for finishing touches?

Sometimes it’s the difference between a nice card and a gorgeous creation!

Next stop on the Colour INKspiration blog hop is the clever Jackie Noble!

Joining Stampin’ Up! means different things for different people.

My Paper Adventures team has grown during 2017 with Sheila, Anne & Mandy joining the fun.  Welcome!!!

Sheila joined so that she could come to the OnStage event which is being held in Perth this April.

Anne joined to save money on her favourite products.

And Mandy joined because she wanted to fully absorb herself in a new wonderful hobby.

It doesn’t matter what your reason is, it could possibly be the best decision you’ve made!

I’m so excited to have new team members – stamping is more fun with friends!

Using some of my new products from the Occasions & Sale-A-Bration catalogues, and a demonstrator supply stamp set (order code: 135815), I made welcome gifts for the new team members.

Every gift starts with a card!  For the card, I used the Vertical Garden and All Things Thanks stamp sets together with the Carried Away DSP.

Welcome to Paper Adventures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Then the gift – engraved bone folders personalised for our team by Courtenay at Etch n Scratch.

Welcome to Paper Adventures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The bone folders were packaged using my Envelope Punch Board and decorated with Carried Away DSP, ‘Best Decision Ever’ sentiment from the demo supply set of the same name and a cute little paper aeroplane (which is our team logo) from the Iconic Occasions stamp set – how convenient is that?

Stampin’ Up! offers cute packaging options and I try to use them whenever I can.

So, I finished it all off by putting the card and bone folder in an embossed glassine bag and holding it all together with some banners, another aeroplane and a gold binder clip.

Welcome to Paper Adventures. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Here’s a close up of the embossing – it looks amazing!

CASEing the Catty #112 Cupcakes & Carousels

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

Hello – Sunday again!  Where do the weekends go?

I had a fabulous weekend spending time with my besties from Uni.  We don’t all get to spend time together very often as we all live in different places, so it’s special when it happens.

How was your weekend?  Anything exciting?  Lots of craft?

I’m still in love with all the gorgeous products from the Occasions & Sale-A-Braiton 2017 catalogue.  It’s fun to have new things to play with.

Today’s theme for the CTC blog hop & challenge is the Cupcakes & Carousel section of the Occasions catalogue – pages 8-13.

CASEing the Catty #112. Images © Stampin' Up!

So that means as well as the items in the Cupcakes & Carousel suite, you may also be inspired by the Lift Me Up bundle (page 10), Birthday Blast bundle (page 11), Super Duper stamp set (page 12) and Birthday Bright project kit (page 13).

I can’t wait to see what the Crew comes up with.  And then what projects the members of the new Facebook group will upload!!!  It’s all so exciting!

For my CTC project this week, I haven’t actually CASEd sample from the catalogue, but taken inspiration from one of the product photos.

Images © Stampin' Up!

The spread of this paper caught my attention and it thought it would make a nice feature on a card!

And it’s a great way to use up all those scraps that accumulate from using a 6″x6″ paper stack for card fronts.

I added the birthday sentiment from the Carousel Birthday stamp set, one of the beautiful new lace doilies (you can’t use these too much – have you ordered some yet?) and a flourish of Calypso Coral twine at the bottom.

I’m still trying to decorate the inside of my cards this year…

Just Add Ink #343 Pop Up & Interactive

Just Add Ink Design Team

The Just Add Ink Design Team are starting 2017 with a blog hop!

And it’s all about pop up & interactive cards.  You’re going to love the ideas shared in this hop.

jai343

I’ve chosen a style of pop up card that has been doing the rounds lately called a Twist & Pop card or a Pop Up Panel card.

From the front it looks like a normal card but as you open it the middle jumps out to reveal a pop up centre panel.  So cool.

And like many ‘fancy’ cards, once you know how, they are super easy to make!

I used the tutorial by Jan B and changed up the design to make it a Pokeball card for a friend of the Miss Papercrafts who loves Pokemon!

I always find photographing fancy fold cards a challenge, so I made a video to show you how cool this style of card is!

Pop up cards are always better in 3D!

But here’s the photos anyway….

The Pokeball on the front is made from circle framelits.

The font on the inside is Cameo cut.  You can download the font here.

You should definitely try this style of card if you haven’t already – it’s a winner!

You’ll also want to keep hopping for more pop up & interactive card ideas.

Next up on the Just Add Ink hop is Karren over in New Zealand!

Please share your creations with us using the linky tool on the Just Add Ink blog.  You can try one of the awesome cards shared on this hop, or share another style of pop up / interactive card.  I’m always on the lookout for fabulous (but easy) design ideas!
