Colour INKspiration – Coming in 2017!

As the year closes out, it’s time to start planning for 2017.

And I have some exciting news to share – there’s a new challenge coming in 2017 – Colour INKspiration.

This bi-monthly challenge is all about colours & creating to colour combinations.

colour-inspiration-banner

It’s going to be heaps of fun, with all the action happening on Facebook, which opens it up to lots more Stampin’ Up! enthusiasts.  No blog required – just join the Facebook page.

I’m delighted to be on the Colour INKspiration Crew, which means I’ll be sharing cards and projects I’ve created using the colours for each challenge.  The crew consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches.

A new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT). which will be accompanied by a Colour INKspiration Crew blog hop. Our first one starts on Wednesday, 11th January.

Don’t forget that this challenge is open to anyone – you don’t have to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator to join in.

So, click here to request to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in with the challenges too.

As a bit of pre-challenge fun, the group creator, Bronwyn Eastley from AddINKtive Designs surveyed the group on their favourite green, blue & yellow from the Stampin’ Up! range.

The winning combination was Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay & Daffodil Delight.

Colour INKspiration - Pre-Challenge colour combination.

These are all gorgeous colours and there have been some amazing creations already.

I was inspired to use these colours for succulent birthday card.

I hadn’t played with the dies from this suite before this card.  I’m so pleased with them – they are lovely with excellent shapes for layering.  So quick & simple to create a stunning succulent or flower centrepiece.

I added some texture to my succulent by gently sponging the leaves with Mint Macaron ink.  Using the same ink as cardstock colour allows for subtle depth.

Inspired by Paula Dobson’s pre-challenge entry, I decided this card needed just a little lift – and a lined envelope would be the perfect accompaniment.

How beautiful is the DSP from the Succulent Garden suite?  I just love all of the products in this range.

I can’t wait for the first challenge, which you’ll see in a few short weeks.  Pop by on 11th Jan to see what me and the rest of the design team have come up with.  Then, join us on Facebook to share your own creation!

Can’t wait til then???  Join us now with your Mint, Bermuda & Daffodil creation!!!

A 2016 Full of Congratulations

2016 has been a wonderful year for our Stampin’ team – Paper Adventures. We’ve seen lots of personal growth, achievements and promotions – way to go team!

Kerry was the most recent promotion, sky rocketing to Bronze Elite!!!  This means that Kerry now earns a minimum of 25% on every order/sale.

To recognise this great achievement, I used some of my new Occasions & Sale-A-Bration products to create a card and gift set for her.

Hot Air Balloon Congratulations Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Since it was a promotion of Bronze proportions, I added in some of the retired Champagne Glimmer paper for the hot air balloon.

Tip: It’s tricky to cut through the glimmer paper for detailed dies.  Make it easier by tearing off the plastic layer on the back of the glimmer paper.  This makes the glimmer much thinner & easier to cut through.

The pencil case is super cute with metallic ‘rose gold’ (bronze) dots.  I added a shrink plastic “K” for Kerry using the Large Letters framelits, coloured with a Bronze Sharpie on the back before putting in the oven to shrink.

Here at Paper Adventures, we’ve grown in size over the past year, but there’s still  lots of room for more adventurers.

How do you join the fun?

Becoming part of the Stampin’ Up! family is as simple as purchasing the starter kit.  It’s just $169 with more than $235 of value.

Apart from the {FREE} set of business resources (catalogues etc), everything is the kit is chosen by you.  It’s not old stock that SU! are trying to get rid of, or things you’ll never use.  It’s your way to build your collection.  And it comes with free shipping.

Which makes it perfect for every stamper – from the new hobbiest to the seasoned crafter.

If you’d like to try out being part of the Stampin’ Up! family, you’re going to love the joining special during Sale-A-Bration – starting 4th Jan 2017, where you get to choose 2 additional stamp sets in your kit (of any value) for the same kit price of $169.

Here’s an example Starter Kit you might choose on 4th Jan…

A Very Merry 2016 Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you & yours!

I hope you have a lovely day planned with great company, lots of laughter and a few crafty presents!

This is my final Christmas card share for the year!

In keeping with my non-traditional Christmas card colours, these are the cards I made for my class participants.

Here’s my set up, ready for my class ladies to arrive (complete with an early Christmas present of new catalogues!)

Without meaning to, all of the products I used for this Christmas gift set were from the Annual Catalogue!!! (except that gorgeous dragonfly that I wanted to show off from the upcoming catalogue).

It was a lovely reminder to me about the versatility of all the products in my stash!

Who knew that the “A Little Foxy DSP” would make such a good Christmas pattern???

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Just Add Ink #342 – Add “N”

Just Add Ink Design Team

It’s the final Just Add Ink for 2016 – what a great experience to be involved with their design team.

I’m so excited to share with you that I’ll be continuing on in 2017 as a permanent member of the Just Add Ink Design Team.  Yay!!!

Today’s challenge is…

Just Add Ink #342

So much choice – in fact you don’t have to stop at one.

Guess how many “N” subjects I can stretch this project to?

It’s a birthday card for my brother who loves nature – especially hiking along the WA coastline.

Just Add Ink #342 - Add "N". High Tide BIrthday Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Do you love the blue tones?  I used Night of Navy, Dapper Denim, Marina Mist & Pool Party for this nautical card.

The High Tide stamp set is stunning – and this may be bold, but I’m touting it as the new “Wetlands” for a popular choice for masculine / neutral cards.

It’s one of my new sets from the upcoming Occasions 2017 Catalogue.

The ‘happy birthday’ sentiment is also new, from the Designer Tee stamp set – a free choice during the Sale-A-Bration promotion starting on 4th Jan 2017.

How many “N” buzz words did you count?  I think there’s 5, but let me know if there’s a ‘n’ I missed!!!

“N” is such a great versatile theme.  Stop by and see what the amazing design team has shared this week and enter your “N” project in the weekly challenge.  Because of the Christmas break, you’ve got until 4th January to create.

Hopefully you all get some crafty time over the holiday period – and maybe even the chance to play with some new toys too!!!

Lucky Elephant Christmas Wishes

I love the cross-over time between being able to pre-order as a demonstrator from the upcoming catalogue and still having current catalogues to play with.

For a short period of time, I can double dip – and have twice as much to play with!!!

Which has the potential for all kinds of crazy creations.

Like these lucky elephant Christmas cards…

Stamp Review Crew – Sweet Stack

sweet-stack-banner

Good morning & welcome to the final Stamp Review Crew hop for 2016!

Today, this talented group of international demonstrators are sharing their creations using the Sweet Stack stamp set.

This sweet set was originally designed to pair with the Sweet Stack project kit and can still be used with the Cutie Pie Thinlits dies to create cake slices fit for a queen!

I’m still in the middle of my Christmas card list (yep, I’m a deadline girl), so I’ve gone with a love-based Christmas theme.

Stamp Review Crew - Sweet Stack Christmas Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

This card is for Mr Papercraft, so it’s ok for it to be a bit lovey-dovey.

You might not (or you might!) want to send a Christmas card like this to your boss!!!

To create the heart filled circle, I stamped the long heart stamp several time (one under another) and then cut it with a stitched circle.

{Great news – the Stitched Shape Framelits will be available again in January!!!).

Stamp Review Crew - Sweet Stack Christmas Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

For my sentiments, I stamped the ‘love you to pieces’ in Basic Black ink and cut that with the smallest stitched circle

{Have you noticed how the stitched framelits are currently appearing on almost every card I make???  They are sooooooo fabulous!}

Then I wrapped my card using the gold twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio in the current Holiday Catalogue.  Unfortunately this is a retiring product, so if you want to stock up, you’ll need to do that before 4th Jan (or stocks run out!).  The good news is that it’s appearing in the online store at the moment at a discounted price!!!

And the final sentiment piece is a Real Red ‘Merry Christmas’ from the Star of Light stamp set (this is a carryover item and will continue to be available until 31st May 2017).

I’m so excited to see what the rest of the team created with this set – particularly the next stop on the hop, the stylish Mike Funke who is super talented at getting the most of a single stamp set!

Thanks for supporting my Stamp Review Crew creations through 2016 – I look forward to more projects with the Crew in 2017!

The next hop goes live on 2nd January – see you then!

CASEing the Catty #109 CASE Anything

12371218_10153736740662158_9102306381153319857_o

As we near Christmas, there’s lots of “lasts” for the year.

Last week was the last day of school (yay to sleep ins and no packed lunches!), next week is the last of work for me and today is the last CASEing the Catty blog hop for 2016!

It’s a free range theme today, so the crew are CASEing anything that takes their fancy.

For me, it’s another baby card.  Do you remember the cute ‘pink but not pink’ elephant card from CTC#106?

Well, bubba Zoe is here and I wanted to make her a card that coordinated with the baby shower card.

This is the inspiration pic using the Large Letters Framelits & Letters for You stamp set in a frame…

I thought the styling was perfect to create a card for Zoe.

CASEing the Catty #109. Large Letters & Letters for You baby card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Simple but wonderfully personal.  She’s a bit young to appreciate it, but I know her parents will love it (even if they don’t love the “pink”!)

Do you love the Large Letters as much as I do???  They are awesome- but may have been on your wishlist for some time.

Stampin’ Up! have a great joining promotion running from 4th Jan 2017 – 31st March 2017 – which means you can construct yourself a fabulous starter kit and save lots of money on your Stampin’ Up! wishlist.

Plus, you’ll be save 20% on all your favourite Stampin’ Up! products as long as you stay a demonstrator.

Just Add Ink #341 - Colour Challenege

With those colours in mind, this is the first of my little chick cards I’m sharing today.

I’m naming this little chick “Olive” and she’s a great ‘layer’!!!

Just Add Ink #341 - Colour Challenge. Hey, Chick. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I love adding layers to a card to build texture.  And twine!

I {LOVE} twine!!!

I’m not sure if it was a purposeful decision to make this embossing folder reminiscent of chicken wire, but I’m loving the happy coincidence if not!!!

You’ll find this dynamic fold in the new Occasions Catalogue.

This chick, who I’m calling “Red” was one of my class cards during the week.  Everyone loved the chicks!

Occasions & SAB 2017 Sneak Peek... Hey, Chick! Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I’ve matched it with the Falling in Love DSP – which is just stunning!!!  Also available in the new catalogue.
