Hello! Today I’m sharing with you my other swap from OnStage 2016 – another shrink plastic project. It’s such a lovely product to make our Stampin’ Up! supplies shine in different ways.
Did you see my I ❤️ SU! keychain on yesterday’s post? Check here for all the technical shrink info.
For this card, I used black shrink plastic & the reindeer die from the Santa’s Sleigh set to make …
Because it was a swap with the CASEing the Catty design team, I wanted to choose something from the Holiday Catalogue to inspire me.
After much deliberation, I ended up choosing the layout on the left from one of the host set sample photos.
I made it as a peekaboo card with the DSP adhered to the inside layer of the card and the embellishments (Washi, burlap & reindeer feature) to the top layer.
In keeping with my love this Christmas of non-traditional colour combinations, the black shrink plastic was perfect for my neutral theme – craft, black & copper.
It was really hard to get a good photo of just how cute the teeny tiny reindeer was, but I tried!!!
This is my reindeer embellishment before I added him to the card…
And on the card…
On this photo, you can see what a cool 3D event the reindeer adds!
You could make any solid shape with a large starting size into a shrink embellishment. There were some reindeer fails too when the legs started sticking during the curl process – a shape without appendages would be easier!!!
I’d love to see your shrink projects!!!
Gorgeous Kel.
Thanks Cheryl!
