Morning! Officially it’s spring here in Bunbury, Western Australia – but someone forgot to tell the weather man! So, instead of bright and sunny, it’s overcast and a little soggy!
Not to worry, stamping & blog hopping doesn’t need perfect weather and in fact, it’s nice and cosy at the craft table!!!
Snuggle up, and come around the world as we visit international blogs in search of inspiration for today’s feature stamp set – Timeless Textures!
It’s a set with unlimited possiblities and I can’t wait to see what everyone has come up with.
During the week, I’d decided that I was going to use the stamps to form a repetitive background sequence in clear embossing.
I’d only intended to make a couple, but as I started matching the background pieces with other stamps in my collection, it was fun to keep going!
All in all, I made 5 cards in this style. Here’s the backgrounds…
And here’s the cards…
Block of Dots + Seaside Shore
Circles + Fairy Celebration
Random Dots + Lots of Love
Fleur de Lis + Mixed Drinks
Woodgrain + Country Livin’
I’m undecided if they need sentiments or if they say enough as they are!
What do you think???
Any favourites??? For me it’s never the planned cards but always the afterthoughts that I fall in love with. I love the cowboy boots!!!
Thanks for hopping with me!
Next stop on the inspiration trail is Shana Gaff and her timeless creations!

Wow! The fantastic five. That was an awesome idea, Kelly and I think I really like the frog and the fish!
Thanks Dawn!
So you really only used the clear embossing powder? Did you stamp in a color first before you did the clear? How does it look darker (mainly the boot one)? I really love these! But if I had to choose a favorite…the boot and the frog! I know…that’s 2, but I can’t help it. 🙂
Thanks Lani!
Stamped in versamark then covered in clear embossing powder and heat set. That’s all – it’s a great effect!
These are wonderful! Just proves that everyone needs this set!!
I feel like I *need* every set hehe. But these abstract sets are invaluable!
These are great, Kelly! You’ve just given me some inspiring ideas for my Christmas cards (I’ve been struggling but I’ve just seen the light!!)
Fantastic Fiona. Looking forward to seeing them!
What a nice review of the different backgrounds, Kelly! I love the different styles.
Thanks Heidi!
How clever to create an assortment of background papers with this set. And clear embossing powder goes with everything! 😉
Thanks Mike. I love clear embossing!
Oh my goodness Kelly! You are fantastic, I love these cards honey xox
Thanks Adele x
Oh Kelly!! You did a marvelous job pairing these with so many sets! I love them all, but the boots and the fairy just barely edge out the others as favorites 🙂
Thanks Tanya!
Love the backgrounds and how they can become the perfect backdrop for just about anything! Great cards, Kelly!
Thanks Mickey!
Wow Kelly! You really showed off the versatility and awesomeness of this set to be used as backgrounds! Great collection! The boots one is my fave 🙂
Thanks Holly!
