Happy Monday and welcome to the first Stamp Review Crew hop for August.
Prepare to be dazzled by the Crew’s inspiration for the Botanical Blooms stamp set.
It’s another set in the SU! range with coordinating framelits for fabulous crafting!
This set was a bit of a challenge for me – because I always go for those luscious dies. And hardly ever ink up the stamp set.
But, challenge accepted and with a determination to only use the stamp set, I created three one-layer ‘masked’ cards using the sweet flowers, leaves & scatter stamps to create colour bursts.
Each card used masking to contain the stamped images.
Using photocopy paper and various shapes, I ‘masked’ out the white space I wanted to keep clean and stamped the Whisper White card base with a collage of Botanical Blooms.
They overlapped each other quite carelessly and I used another technique called ‘stamping off’ or ‘second generation stamping’ to create lighter tones of the same colour for some of the images.
The colour palette is Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Blushing Bride & Mint Macaron with a striking Basic Black Archival sentiment.
The archival ink is my go-to for anything bold because the depth of colour is awesome and the image is always really solid.
The lovely bold sentiment you see is a favourite of mine – a single wood stamp set called Stylized Birthday.
I love it for the size & beautiful font!!!
I know you’re going to see lots of amazing inspiration as you keep hopping.
You can go backwards to the super stylish Mike Funke or on to the next stop for the ever-fabulous Dawn Tidd.
Leave me a comment if you have time – I read and cherish every one!
