We must be back in a birthday orbit at the moment because this is the second kids birthday card I’ve shared this week! (Or is it the third?)
This card ended up being a comedy of errors to make. I had it all planned out in my head, but putting it the magic part together involved a fair bit of prising apart and re-doing.
I almost didn’t blog it but because it’s a cool card – I wanted to share. You are likely to be able to recreate it without the hassles I encountered!!! (I’m sure I did every step the hard way)
I also wanted to remind you that blog writers are normal crafters too – with just as many failures, ’roundabout’ creations and trial & error cards to their name as you.
Often you don’t hear about how many attempts it took to get the one you see in the photo, or how much cardstock ended up in the bin before we got it right! It can seem like you’re the only one making ‘templates’ (this is what my Tuesday class ladies call their practice attempts – templates that you go back to for measurements & reminders). I am here to tell you – EVERYONE MAKES TEMPLATES!
So, here is my magic dinosaur card…
Where’s the magic? Pull here and he goes from being an x-ray dino, to a ful colour T-Rex!
I had made the suggestion to Stampin’ Up! (on more than 1 occasion) that vertical sentiments would be awesome – and this catalogue we got them!!!! Yay – sometimes you just need a n option that goes up & down!
He’s not perfect, but he works (kinda… don’t pull too hard). I hope Mr 6 enjoyed the fun of turning his dinosaur card into full colour! Kelly x
