This week at Just Add Ink it’s all about adding “M”. I’m always reluctant to go with the obvious choice (ie, Mother’s Day) and after some “M” searching, I have decided I will go with “MASCULINE”. I know card for the special guys in our lives are sometimes challenging to make, so I’m excited to share this design with you.
It uses the now retired Skating By stamp set. I saw “now retired” because it is sold out! Every item on the retired list is ‘until stocks last’ and they are disappearing fast! So, if you have something on your wishlist, you may want to order it sooner rather than later. You can find an up-to-date retired list here (items that have sold out are marked in the final column).
The shading for this card was a fabulous happy accident – don’t you love it when that happens??? I inked up the Brick Wall embossing folder with Smoky Slate ink (then tried to rub some of it off!) and then ran it through the Big Shot which created a wonderful shading pattern that fit my card design perfectly.
Thankfully the Brick Wall embossing folder is not on the retired list- yay!
There’s two new 6×6″ embossing folders in the new catalogue. 6×6″ folders are great because you don’t have to worry about which way around you want your card to go!!! Plus they are super cute designs.
5 weeks to go til all things new are revealed (and orderable!). So excited! Kelly x

Lovely masculine card – I love what you have done with the brick wall and the shading. Chantell JAI
Thanks Chantell!
Your happy accident turned out perfectly! It works so well with your masculine theme and the little skater dude! I love your card and I’m so glad you found time to join our M challenge this week, Kelly. Patrice, JAI x
Thanks Patrice! Yay for happy accidents rather than the start again kind!
This is a great masculine card Kelly – how fortuitous was your ink smear and you for putting it to good use! I love that clever little wheelbarrow too! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
Thanks Kim – I was definitely pleased that it all worked out 🙂
Great idea to go masculine, Kelly. You’re so right that ideas for our little & big guys are always welcome. Love your little guy – such a shame he’s retired & I am all for happy accidents on cards. Thanks for playing along with us again this week at JAI.
Di 🙂
I think I’m going to keep him – he’s just so cute! Thanks Di!
Love it.
Thanks Cheryl!
