The Stampin’ Up! buzz continues with lots of the chat being about what’s retiring & what’s staying. I know you can’t see the new catalogue yet, but now that the blockout is over, I can start to share some of the info with you.
What’s staying??? If you head to the retirement list, you can read between the lines and work out what current sets will carry over the to new catalogue, including favourites from the Occasions catalogue.
Several of my favourite stamp sets are staying including my newly acquired Picture Perfect stamp set (update: Nanna Papercraft chose option (c), so I unable to resist owning Picture Perfect, I have added it to my collection too!).
It’s an exciting time to know that I’m going to be able to craft with this stamp set for a whole year (at least).
Today I wanted to share with you the card I made for a 1:1 card swap that is being run by Kylie Bertucci. It’s easy to participate – and anyone in Australia can. You send an original card design to Kylie with a self-address envelope and she sends a card designed by another participant back to you.
{If you’re in the US, check in with Brian King, because he runs a 1:1 swap for you lovely crafters in the states}.
This is my 1:1 swap card. It was quite fiddly to stamp all the layers and work with the frame piece – but I was so happy with how it looked when I’d finished, it was well worth all the moving & positioning!!!
This photo actually picks up the Wink of Stella I used for the background quite nicely! Rather than colouring my hummingbird with shimmer, I added it to the white space within the frame.
I love the sepia effect of stamping the roses in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake & Tip Top Taupe and then bold colours for the hummingbird as the centrepiece.
The bird is stamped in Crumb Cake, Lost Lagoon & Island Indigo with a Rose Red chest (which I need more practice at lining up!).
I’m so excited to see what card I get in return and will share with you when it arrives.
The swap is open to all cards received in Kylie’s mailbox by Friday 29th April. You don’t have to be a demonstrator to participate (I’d love a card from a non-demonstrator!), so get crafting over the weekend and share your love of Stampin’ Up! Kelly x
