Every now & again I have a patch of time on a Tuesday to myself. Today’s mix included a little less time at the craft table and a few more errands than I’d planned, but I did manage to make this card for the Just Add Ink colour challenge, which also fits in with the ‘thank you’ theme over at the Global Design Project. How’s that for time efficiency!?!
I don’t despise the colour purple – but it’s not a colour I pull out often. Blackberry Bliss is such a lovely colour and it’s another I’m going to miss when this set of in colours retire at the end of May.
This is my card…
Two colours of a similar palette are great for multi-step stamping. For the flowers (from the Sale-A-Bration “What I Love” stamp set), I used ‘stamped off’ & full strength Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry. It’s a very striking colour combination against the subtlety of the neutral Tip Top Taupe.
When I added the customary clear Wink of Stella coat, the colours blended a little further and filled in the white spaces with more purple tones – which was a lovely surprise.
I’d like to dedicate my thank you card to challenge blogs like Just Add Ink and Global Design Project – they are often the highlight of my stamping week, providing such great inspiration from the design teams and a fabulous starting point for cards I want to design. If anyone from the JAI or GDP would like to send me their address, I’ll send you my card. Kelly x
