Welcome to another ESAD Blog Hop. These are always so much fun and contain lots of inspiration. There’s 20 crafty ladies in total. You can hop in which ever direction you like (or at random if that takes your fancy!). You might be starting here or have come from Carly’s cute projects. Next stop after this one is Sally – just click on the ‘next blog’ button below. If you get lost (or want to try the random approach), there’s a full list of participants at the bottom of this post.
I’m putting it out there, this seasonal catalogue is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen! I {don’t} have one of everything, but it’s been very hard to draw the line on what I *need*, what I {want} and what I absolutely can’t craft without.
My top 3 catalogue buys are:
- Wink of Stella in Clear – I have been putting this on almost every card I’ve made since it arrived. It really is magic! Can you guess which card from my blog hop projects got the Stella treatment (hint: the answer might surprise you!)
- Large Numbers / Number of Years bundle – the size, style & shape of these numbers is perfect to make them a centrepiece on any project and the matching stamp set is just adorable!
- Birthday Bouquet DSP (and all the other DSP in the catalogue!) – totally beautiful, do I need to say more?
For today’s blog hop I wanted to show you some ideas I have been stirring up using the Cups & Kettle Framelits dies. For me, framelit sets are worth buying when I can see the potential in them. Either as heavy use for what they are made for (like the Large Numbers) or as great builder shapes to be able to make something other than the obvious.
The Cups & Kettle set falls into the second category for me. As well as the obvious creations you can craft from the suite (paper, ribbon, stamps, trinkets… who doesn’t love a coordinating product range), these cute little framelits offer more than their initial impression.

Here’s a traditional card using the cup framelit…
But then it gets a bit fancier, because the cup can also make a frosty beer mug…
And this is my favourite…
If you turn the kettle upside down and cut half a circle from the bottom using your 1″ punch, you end up with an elephant. Finish the shaping by rounding the top corners and cutting part of the handle away. So much potential in one little set!!!
As well as the great products you can purchase from the Occasions catalogue, there are some fabulous products available for free from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Two of my favourites are the Hello stamp set and Perfectly Artistic DSP. These products are limited edition and only available until 16th Feb 2016. After this time, they will be retired and Stampin’ Up! will release more limited edition products for you to redeem with any qualifying order.
