My Little Miss Papercrafts have been loving playing with Lego of late. As well as the traditional Lego, you can also buy ‘girly’ sets now in purple, pink, aqua & a pale yellow – it’s such a lovely colour combination.
So, when it was time to make a couple of birthday cards this week, it was Lego all round – because girls like Lego too!
This is the traditional ‘boy version’ using red, blue & yellow. The overlapping bricks were done using the masking techqniue of stamping the image onto a post-it note, cutting it out and sticking it over the previously stamped image so it ‘masks’ out the image and they don’t overlap. I used my blender pen to colour these bricks – otherwise they end up too dark if you just use Stampin’ Write Markers.
And this is the ‘girl version’ with modern Lego colours. Because the colours from the Subtles Collection are much lighter, I was able to colour the bricks directly using the Stampin’ Write Markers.
The Lego lettering was cut using my Silhouette Cameo. You can download the Lego font here. There was a bit of fusing around with welding & offsetting but I was so pleased to be able to replicate the style of the Lego logo.
Happy Birthday to the little Lego loving birthday kids. I hope they love their new sets. Kelly & the little misses x
