Meet the Newest Member of the Papercraft Family!

Mr Papercraft got his wish this month – we added a boat to the Papercraft family.  Welcome…

Boatin’ Up!

It wouldn’t be a true papercraft boat without custom vinyl lettering made with my Cameo in a font that reminds me of a particular favourite brand (Pacifico).

Here’s Mr Papercraft and his pride & joy…

The Papercraft family will be taking a break for the next week to go on a boating adventure.

Happy New Year, see you in 2016!!!

Happy 30th Little Bro!

Today my ‘baby’ brother (who has been much taller than me for most of my life) turns the big 3-0!  He tells me that not much will change, but he might grow up… and not just in height! We’ll see!

He’s an avid hiker, so I used the Woodland Embossing Folder (currently unavailable, but due back in 2016), the new Sky Is The Limit Sale-A-Bration set and the super awesome Number of Years and Large Numbers bundle from the upcoming Occasions catalogue.

You’ll want to get the Large Numbers as part of a bundle because the stamp set is fabulous – with beautiful watercoloured numbers, great sentiments and also some flowers and flourishes.  At $85.75, you’re most of the way to the $90 SAB spend – which means add another $5 to your order and you can choose the limited edition Sky Is The Limit stamp set.

And if you’re short of ideas for things to try – try the Gold Wink of Stella pen – I’m am totally in love with these pens.  They just lift the whole project with a touch of shimmer.  And as you can see, shimmer is not just for girly cards!

Did you notice that I said Sky Is The Limit is a “limited edition”???  (I wonder if SU! intended for that pun?).  That’s right – 3 of the Sale-A-Bration items (pages 16 – 19) are only available until 15 February, so if they are your favourites, you’ll want to redeem them first.  The great news is that Stampin’ Up! will release more limited edition SAB items on 16th Feb!!!  And you get one free item with EVERY $90, so while some of them might be limited editions, there is no limit to the amount of Sale-A-Bration items you can collect.

Happy Birthday little bro – hope the next decade is truly awesome and that ‘growing up’ goes well!  The Papercraft Family x

The Most Stella Find in the Occasions Catalogue

Have you had a chance to look through your Occasions catalogue yet?  It’s full of beautiful new products – most of them ‘must-haves’ for me!

You’ll want to make sure that you have Wink of Stella on your wishlist.  Flip to page 24 and look for them in the middle of the page.  It’s easy to miss these gorgeous pens but they are amazing – and need to be part of your crafting stash!  It comes in clear and gold.  If you’re unsure, which colour to get (and the craft budget doesn’t extend to both), then start with the clear, as this adds a subtle touch of shimmer over any colour.

They shimmer is truly spectacular – you can’t really capture it in a photo, but I tried!  The best thing to do is order one for yourself and try it out.

I’ve paired the Wink of Stella pen with the Rose Garden framelits.  These are spectacular in their own right and if the number of samples already on Pinterest are anything to go by, it’s going to be an incredibly popular bundle in the new catalogue.  The font on the coordinating stamp set is beautiful!

Can’t wait to see the products in real life?  You might be interested in my launch event on 9th Jan.  I’d love to see you there.  Kelly x

A Family Christmas Celebration – Custom Card

A lady I work with requests lots of custom cards.  She loves to be able to give cards with lots of names & details on – which I love too!  It makes the card so much more special when the recipient knows it has been made just for them.

For this card, she wanted the names of the 5 family members on it.  I loved how Stephanie Kolker used the Endless Wishes stamp set last year (stamp set now retired) to create a Christmas tree, and used this as my starting inpsiration.

With the help of my computer for custom name printing, this is the card I made…

Sometimes it’s worth holding on to favourite stamp sets – just so the Pinterest inspiration all comes together!  With the help of your computer, you’d be able to print all the text if you wanted to.  See below for the products you can still buy to make your own custom Christmas tree.  Kelly x

Jingle All the Way to Christmas!

Although this Christmas season has seemed to go on forever, I still can’t believe it’s finally Christmas {this week}!

I made this sweet little card for a friend – making a concerted effort to use the reindeer clips from the Holiday catalogue.  I loved them so much when I saw them in the Holiday catalogue but like so many of the SU! embellishments, I want to own them – and can never bring myself to use them!!!  Craft *collector* here!

Jingle All The Way Christmas Card featuring a red nosed Reindeer Paper Clip. Kelly Kent -

There’s lots of retiring fare on this card – Winter Wonderland DSP, Reindeer Paper Clips & Jingle All The Way stamp set.  Good news though, not everything from the Holiday catalogue is going – you’ll find the Red Foil in the upcoming Occasions catalogue.

Don’t forget, lots of the retiring products from the holiday catalogue are on sale until the catalogue ends (5th Jan 2016) or until stocks last.  There have already been sell outs, so if you have something on your maybe list, head over to my online store and order it for yourself.  We all deserve a Christmas present (or six) in this silly season!  Kelly x

Oh So Sweet Thank You Gifts

It’s been a big season of giving for us this year – and Christmas hasn’t even arrived yet!  If you haven’t guessed, I {LOVE} giving gifts, so this time of year is perfect for me.

These sweet little gifts were for the staff at the littlest Miss Papercraft’s daycare.  My respect for teachers is huge, but early childhood educators (aka day care staff) are amazing!  Not only do they spend their day cleaning up after little people (in every way possible), they also choose to work with an age group that are notorious for being ‘terrible’, ‘troublesome’ and ‘fearsome’. And we trust them to nuture, teach and enrich the brains of our most precious bundles.

We are lucky enough to be part of a daycare that go above & beyond, with staff that are bright, happy and so lovely.  So, spoiling them with …. homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream …. was our treat to them to say a big thank you.

Of course, the Baileys was only part of the fun – making beautiful gift tags for each bottle was also a nice part of the ‘homemade’ touch.  Homemade doesn’t mean low class!

The Baileys recipe was provided by Thermofun and the super cute bottles were from Pack My Product.

Once the tags were made, I couldn’t resist making a matching card using the same design elements…

And then, because they really are a sweet group of people who I adore, I decided to fill one of the left over bottles with M&Ms.  It is the sugar season … right?

So, to the wonderful staff at Milligan House Child Care – thank you!  We appreciate you & your hardwork through the year.  We hope you find a moment over the Christmas break to put your feet up with a cold glass of adult chocolate milk!  Kelly & the littlest Miss x

CASEing the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue – Sneak Peak

Have you got your hands on a Sale-A-Bration catalogue yet?  It’s filled with 11 fabulous products that are yours to choose with every $90 of products purchased from 5th January until the end of March 2016.  As a demonstrator, I’ve been able to order these early and have taken the chance this week to get some of the new offerings inky.

One of my favourites is the bold Botanicals For You stamp set which I used to make end of year thank you cards for some of my favourite stamping people.  Although Pinterest is always a good go-to place for inspiration, some of the best ideas come from the samples pictured in the catalogue.  The design team at SU! head office in Utah are very talented and always come up with great ideas.  Plus, they really don’t mind you copying (CASEing – Copy And Share Everything) what they’ve made.  In fact, they encourage it.

I wanted my card to match the soon to be available “It’s My Party” Designer Series Paper Stack, so I swapped the colours in the sample card for colours that coordinate with the DSP – Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo & Mint Macaron flowers and Sahara Sand leaves.  I’m not usually good at one layer cards, but I think this one looks great.  Thanks for the help SU!

Class of 2015 – Teacher Thank You Cards

Today was the last day of kindy for my big girl.  This is the commemorative photo we took with a ‘last day’ sign – coloured with Stampin’ Write Markers – of course!

My beautiful big girl on her last day of kindy

It’s been a lovely year and I wanted to make cute cards to go with our teacher gifts.

My cards were inspired by these layouts – Kylie & Inge, both of which were part of a back to school challenge in August.  I really wanted to use the Schoolhouse DSP, which is how my searching lead me to these particular designs.

Personalised Thank You Teacher Cards. Kelly Kent -

The school colours are nice & bright – purple & turquoise and I added in yellow because that’s the colour for the kindy block.

Personalised Thank You Teacher Cards. Kelly Kent - you know, I love being able to make cards personal – it’s much more special when the recipient knows it’s been made just for them!  And the extra touch for these cards was getting Alexa to write her name on a Washi Label tag.  How cute is 4 year old handwriting!

I hope her teachers have a lovely summer break, they’ve certainly earned it!  Anyone who has the patience to work with 4 & 5 year olds has my respect!!!  Kelly x
