The Festive Flower Punch… JAI285

I’ve had a festive flower on my to-do list since I first got this punch in August.  And can you believe, over 2 months later, this is first time I’ve used the punch to make an actual flower.  I’ve been using it – to make fish, for the cute little crosses, for the petal shape… But I haven’t actually constructed a whole flower.

Until today!  The Just Add Ink colour combination screamed “FLOWER” to me, so I took the opportunity and ran with it.

Now, I confess, I didn’t actually watch the Stampin’ Up! video that gives you great advice about how to make the flower up.  I just winged it…  But, I ended up with a pretty flower, so all good! The video is definitely worth watching though!

Here is my very first festive flower!

Now, I wasn’t sure about this colour combination at first.  All those sweet subtles with Night of Navy, but as usual, the challenge was a great opportunity to try something different – and the colours work!  Who knew!!! {Apart from the clever girls at JAI of course!}

And my love affair with the Watercolor Wishes stamp set continues.  The selection of sentiments are just beautiful.

Now, I’ll have to watch the video, get punching and make a Christmas poinsettia flower just like the designers intended. There’s more than one way to make a festive flower!!!  Kelly x

  1. I love the clean crisp modern feel of your flower Kelly. The simple Navy frame really makes the flower pop! Thanks for joining us again at Just Add Ink this week.
