Being a girl, and the mother of girls, I wasn’t shocked during a conversation with some other kindy mums this week to find out my superhero knowledge is fairly poor.
Did you know there are different types of Avengers? And that some characters are the making of Marvel, and some of from DC Comics. I had quite the superhero education!
Despite my very poor knowledge of the superheroes back story, I still remember some of the classics from my childhood, which (thankfully) are still as popular as ever today!
This set of “super awesome” block art cards were made for 3 little superheroes who celebrated birthdays recently.
These creations were made a little easier with the help of some Silhouette cuts. And it was fun to create their name using fonts that matched the comics.
Block art is a great way to capture the essence of the character without having to re-create them in punch art!
They were super fun to make. I think I’m going to have to do some superhero / comic research and create some more character cards soon. Maybe Wonder Woman to balance out all the testosterone! Kelly x
What SUPER cards yiou have made.
Cannot wait to see what other comic heroes cards you come up with…how about some SF ones…Beam me up Scotty..!
Thanks Carla. Star Trek? That sounds like an interesting challenge. I think Dr Who would work too if I was to branch out from the superheroes theme.
Very nice. Love the way you created these with “blocks.” I may have to borrow the idea for my grandsons upcoming birthdays. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks Deb. Borrow away. I’m sure your grandson will love it (as much as any young man appreciates the effort that goes into a handmade card – I’m sure his Mum will though!!!).
