Springing into Spring … JAI278

We’ve finally had some spring-like weather today in Bunbury with more forecast for tomorrow.   Then it’s back to showers (just in time for the weekend – perfect crafting weather I say!!!!).

Today’s cards are inspired by the spring weather and Just Add Ink photo inspiration:

I love the colours – the Brights collection has always been my favourite and this colour combination was a great chance to bring them out.

These are my fun spring theme cards using the Garden in Bloom stamp set (which “screams” spring!):

Have you ever wondered how people get images to line up over one another (so one looks in front)?

It’s really simple – stamp your image onto a scrap piece of paper then ‘fussy cut’ around the outside with scissors.  Stamp the image again on your card and then place the scrap outline over the stamped image to create a ‘mask’.  Stamp the next image you want (using the same stamp or a different one) and any ink that overlaps with the first image will go on your scrap piece of paper and not your card front.  I use a little bit of repositional tape on the back of the scrap so it stays in place while I am stamping.

Hopefully you find some time over the next week to make some spring inspired cards (or for my northern hemisphere fans – some autumn creations).  Kelly x

  1. Oh-so-pretty! We’re having bleak weather, with sunny Spring weather forecast for the weekend, in Melbourne – crazy how different our weather patterns are, across the country. I especially like the first card, Kelly; so bright and happy. Thanks for joining in the fun at Just Add Ink this week.
