Feel Better Kristel! JAI271

One of my SU! team hurt herself on the weekend playing hockey – reinforcing my long-held theory that exercise is actually bad for you!  Much safer to stay indoors and play with paper!!!

She’s now housebound while she recovers, which will give her lots of time to make some cards & 3D paper projects.

The JAI sketch this week is a great starting point – one of the most versatile sketches I’ve ever seen.

This is my card, using some of the new DSP: Color Me Irresistible Specialty with amazing glossy clear embossing & the beautiful pattern from Pretty Petals Paper Stack.

Do you like the ribbon colour?  I coloured it myself using my Mint Macaron reinker & 1/4″ Whisper White Cotton Ribbon.  Using a sponge, I rubbed colour onto the white ribbon until it had the coverage I wanted.  With this technique, you can have any colour ribbon you need for your project!

And while we’re at it – one more tip… If you lay a piece of cardstock over the top of your framelit when you run it through the Big Shot, the framelit leaves an imprint on the cardstock, which you can then cut around with your paper snips & create yourself a mat/border for your framelit shape.  This works for almost all of the SU! framelit shapes.

Hope you feel better soon Kristel & get in some craft time while you’re recovering.  Kelly x

  4. Such a gorgeous, serene, colour combination Kelly; this is beautiful. Your custom-coloured ribbon is perfect, and I love your tip for creating mats for die-cut shapes … in all my years of die-cutting, I’ve never come across that idea! Thanks for entering this lovely card in our Just Add Ink challenge. 🙂
