Mummy Confession – Party Girl Invites

I have a huge Mummy confession.  One that may surprise you…

I have never, in the 5 opportunities I’ve had, made my kids’ birthday party invites!

I’m a huge fan of the beautiful digital designs you can get on etsy – made by very talented graphic designers – which can then be printed en masse (we usually have an ‘invite everyone, one size fits all’ birthday bash).

But for the Littlest Miss Papercraft, who turns 2 this week, we are having a very small birthday event and so I put myself out there and actually hand-made {one-by-one} her invites.

The theme is balloons.  So, I used the super cute balloon from the Cutie Pie Thinlits (told you these were versatile!) and one of my new cattys faves – gold Metallic Thread together with a Silhouette cut sweet little girl.

Before I show you, what is potentially my favourite thing that I have made this year, I have a handy tip to share with you for the metallic thread.  This was shared with me by Courtenay Heuston (fellow SU! demo) who recommended putting a thread net over the twine to keep it from unravelling.  #bestideaever!  Thanks Courtenay!

Ok, so the invites … Isn’t she cute?

I love magnets on kids invites – it makes them nice and easy to keep track of.  Which, as you know from the constant stream of kids parties (and blogged birthday cards) we attended earlier this year, is often important around here.

Now to come up with the rest of the party details and a birthday card to match of course!  I feel like the plumber with the leaky taps!  Kelly x
