ESAD 2015 Annual Catalogue Blog Hop – Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies

2015 ESAD NEW CATTY BLOG HOP HEADER

Hello!  Thanks for joining me for another ESAD Blog Hop.  This one is celebrating all things “new catalogue”.  As always, SU! have delivered and the 2015-16 is filled cover-to-cover with beautiful things that will keep your crafty soul singing!

There are 20 fabulously talently ladies on the hop today.  If you’re on your way around, then you’ve just come from Richelle’s blog – isn’t she wonderful?!?

Starting here?   Then keep going until you get back.  And if you have time, leave the bloggers a comment – we love hearing from you!

I changed my mind a couple of times for today’s blog topic, before finally settling on the Cutie Pie Thinlits die.

Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies 138273

This “cute” little set goes with the Sweet Stack Project Kit, so that you can make replacement cake slices when you’ve used the ones included in the kit.

And, it also has a matching stamp set!

Some ideas for using the die set to make cake wedges (courtesy of the Stampin’ Up! creative team):

It looks great as a cake.  As a thinlits set, it ticks lots of boxes for me! Cute cake, matching stamp set, refills for the project kit…

But, the best news of all (I think) is you can use it to make so much more than just cake slices.  There are some great ideas floating around on Pinterest including a watermelon slice, swiss cheese & cherry pie.

To add to the mix, here are some ideas for creations with the Cutie Pie Thinlits die that would make great kids birthday presents or party favours:

The finished box/wedge is a great size inside – which gives you room to include something to play with (Lego, insects, fairy dust, dinosaurs…) or something sweet (cake, lollies, chocolates).  It’s roomier (and taller) than the Curvy Keepsake box, so you are not as limited by what fits inside.

One last note on the Cutie Pie Thinlits dies: there was an error with the instructions they included that gives an incorrect picture for assembling the main box.  If you have a set, check that you’ve got the new instructions (download here).

Next “stomp” on the hop is over to the lovely & creative Andrea Buckland.  Thanks for joining us!  Remember, if you have time, we all {LOVE} comments!  Kelly x

  1. Oh you have given me so many projects I now just have to CASE! These are gorgeous – thanks for so generously sharing!

  2. You’re such a clever girl, Kelly. I love all the great ideas you’ve come up with for the die. I can’t pick a fave as they’re all too cute. The dino cave really made me smile (much more than Jurassic World it must be said ;-)) Thanks for sharing. I do hold you responsible for that die moving up my wishlist though 😉
    Di 🙂

    1. Thanks Richelle. And you’ll need the Garden in Bloom set so you can make your own little bee stationary (you can blame Leonie for that addition to the wishlist).

  3. Oh Kelly, how clever are you! I was undecided about this die as I thought ‘how many pieces of cake do you need!”, but oh boy, you have changed my mind. I can see so many more possibilities with it now, thanks so much for sharing your creativity. Amazing job.

    1. Thanks Narelle. I love the dies that give options but sometimes it’s hard to see past the obvious. I always forget about the extra pieces in those die sets – that scallop border is going to come in handy now the punch is retired.

  4. You are freakin’ amazing Kelly! These projects are so cool!! Love the policemen and the beehive and I know a young man who would go nuts over your Cutie Pie Die-nosaur box!

  5. I have only just been able to look at the blog hop Kelly. I love your alternative use for this die. Thanks for the inspiration
