The Grooviest Request

So, a couple of weeks ago I got a voicemail on my mobile (my phone is ALWAYS on silent {a habit I never dropped from the days of having newborns}) from a lovely man asking me to make a card for his wife’s birthday.  He wanted a card to suit an “ex-hippie grandmother who loves purple”.  I do love a challenge, so this was a perfect request.

We ended up with a purple heavy card featuring a Kombi van with personalised “Nanny” plates…

I’ve heard from the “ex-hippie purple grandmother” herself and she loves it – phew!  Apparently she’s always wanted to jump in a Kombi and travel.

The background is my new favourite not-so-new product – Shimmery White cardstock with a kaleidescope of colour.  Until convention, I didn’t realise how good this was for everything – including watercolouring!  If you don’t have any, you’ll want to add this to your next order!!!

I used my Silhouettte Cameo for the Kombi and “happy birthday” (font: Keep on Truckin’).

And the purples?

Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum & Blackberry Bliss.

Yet another successful “not a Hallmark” creation – my favourite type of card.  Kelly x
